Greek Pasta and Sausage

I took a sauce that is a recipe my YiaYia gave me for Greek meatballs and turned it in to one of favorite sausage dishes!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 Box of Pasta – I use Penne and Bowties – it is how my daughters like it. But you can use any pasta.
  • 4 Sausage Links – I prefer Mild or Sweet
  • 1/2 Stick of Butter
  • 1 Can of Tomato Sauce
  • 1/2 Cup Vinegar
  • 1 Tsp Cinnamon
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Pepper

Method
 

  1. Cook pasta according to directions on the box.
  2. In a frying pan, cook sausage links in a little bit of oil until they are no longer pink. Cut them in to slices and set them aside.
  3. Melt butter in a small saucepan. Let it brown slightly.
  4. Shut off heat.
  5. Add can of tomato sauce. Sprinkle in salt & pepper to taste – stirring.
  6. Add vinegar and cinnamon.
  7. Turn on heat and simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  8. Combine pasta, sausage, and sauce.
