Japanese pop sensations ONE OR EIGHT make history with their second U.S. Mediabase Top 40 Chart Hit ahead of North and South American Tour.

Japanese pop sensations ONE OR EIGHT are pushing boundaries once again, becoming the Japanese boy group with the most entries in history on the Mediabase U.S. Top 40 chart. Today, fan favorite track “TOKYO DRIFT” from the recently released album GATHER has officially entered the chart at #38, demonstrating the group’s global reach and asserting their place in music history. ONE OR EIGHT previously became the first Japanese boy group to enter the chart with their track “DSTM,” and with “TOKYO DRIFT,” they have now secured their second chart entry, marking the highest number of entries ever achieved by a Japanese boy group.
This incredible achievement comes on the heels of the recently announced ONE OR EIGHT 1ST LIVE TOUR – GATHER, taking their signature style, sound, and charisma across North and South America this Spring. Launching on April 8, 2026, building on the success of last year’s fan meetings, the highly anticipated tour marks ONE OR EIGHT’s first-ever journey through the U.S. and South America, with stops in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Mexico City, and more. The tour will showcase the group like never before, putting their performance skills and musical artistry fully on display as 1DERZ, the group’s dedicated fanbase, come together from around the world to experience GATHER. This highly anticipated tour celebrates the release of the group’s most ambitious project to date, GATHER. The high-energy mini album reimagines modern Japanese style through a bold fusion of genres and distinctive sonic elements, ushering in a new era of sound for the group. The project features focus track “TOKYO DRIFT,” a thrilling, adrenaline-charged song that samples the iconic “TOKYO DRIFT (FAST & FURIOUS)” by the Teriyaki Boyz and embodies the “bet on yourself” spirit that has defined ONE OR EIGHT. The track arrives with an action-packed music video that captures not only the pulse of the song, but the essence of Tokyo itself, immersing viewers in the streets of the iconic city. The release of GATHER follows a landmark run for the group since their official debut. ONE OR EIGHT first burst onto the scene on August 16, 2024 with “Don’t Tell Nobody,” produced by hitmakers Ryan Tedder (Taylor Swift, Adele, Tate McRae) and David Stewart (BTS). The debut single reached No. 1 on the Billboard Japan Heatseekers Songs chart, immediately establishing the group as a breakout force.
Momentum continued with “KAWASAKI (with Big Sean),” released on December 6, 2024 which climbed to No. 5 on the U.S. iTunes Top Rap and Hip-Hop Songs chart. The collaboration also marked a major milestone as ONE OR EIGHT became the first Japanese group to walk the red carpet at the U.S. music awards show VMA, signaling their arrival on the international stage.
With GATHER, ONE OR EIGHT kick off 2026 at full throttle, channeling their journey, ambition, and relentless drive into a track designed to rally fans worldwide.
