What If The Solar Opposites Cast & Producers Could What If?

In speaking with the Solar Opposites cast and creative team about sesaon 5, we asked them if they could What If? what would they do.

Solar Opposites is a hilarious show that follows a team of aliens who have landed on Earth with plans to eventually take it over, once their Pupa evolves enough. That might sound complicated but I promise you, it isn’t.

This series is one of the best on television. So much so that a sixth season was picked up even before season five was released. All eleven episodes of Solar Opposites season 5 are currently streaming on Hulu.

What If? You Could What If?

Mama’s Geeky caught up with the Solar Opposites cast and creative team to discuss season 5. One of the best episodes of the season (although they are all fantastic) is the What If? episode. So I just had to ask them what they would do if they could use a What If? machines. The answers may surprise you.

In the What If? episode, the Solars actually never use the machine. Instead, they discover it to have already been used and spend the episode trying to figure out what the what if was and who used it (say that ten times fast).

Surprisingly, Thomas Middleditch (voice of Terry) and Sean Giambrone (voice of Yumyulack) have similar What Ifs. Sean explains that he was always pretty good at soccer, but went the acting route instead. He wonders what might have been if he continued down the path of an athlete.

Thomas confesses he was never good at soccer, but he wished he was. Stating that his what if would be what if he grew up overseas, and was great at soccer (which would be called football there). He pictures himself running around the field after a big goal.

For the producers – Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel, and Sydney Ryan – they would what if Solar Opposites to have thirty more seasons. Sign me up, because that is a what if I can get behind! Both Josh and Mike also said they would wish for more hair, but of course, the series would come first.

Be sure to watch the full interview with Mike McMahan, Josh Bycel, Sydney Ryan, Thomas Middleditch, and Sean Giambrone to learn more about Season 5 of Solar Opposites. All 11 episodes of Solar Opposites season 5 are streaming now on Hulu.

About Solar Opposites

“Solar Opposites” centers around a team of four aliens who are evenly split on whether Earth is awful or awesome. Korvo (Dan Stevens) and Yumyulack (Sean Giambrone) only see the pollution, crass consumerism, and human frailty while Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Jesse (Mary Mack) love TV, junk food and fun stuff.

On season five, now that alien mission partners Terry and Korvo are married, the whole Solar Opposites team are focused on family values.

All 11 episodes of Solar Opposites season 5 are streaming now on Hulu.
