I have seen the original The Lion King more times than I can possibly count. Part of the reason is probably the fact that I had a bit of a crush on JTT, who voiced Simba. I also have a brother that is 11 years younger than me and so we watched it together. Over and over. The film brings back great memories. Mostly. Except for when Mufasa is brutally murdered. And then Scar convinces poor little Simba it is all his fault and tells him to run away. Today we got the first official The Lion King (2019 version) trailer, and here is my reaction to it.
My Reaction
This is the trailer I have been waiting for. We get more of the main characters. We hear conversations. And we even get an awesome snippet of Timon and Pumbaa singing. YES! Of course I still want more. I want other songs like Hakuna Matata, Can You Feel The Love Tonight, and I Just Can’t Wait To Be King. Donald Glover voices Simba and I LOVE him, so I need to hear that as well. But we know the story, so I can handle waiting until it hits theaters for that.
I cannot wait for this to hit theaters. Just 100 days away. You know I will be taking my daughters to go see this when it comes out. We have seen the original many, many times. And thanks to The Lion Guard, they love all of the characters anyways.
