This may come as a huge shock to you, but I am a bit of a Marvel fan. All kidding aside though, the countdown is ON for Avengers: Infinity War and I am over the moon excited about it. I am not ready for some of my favorite characters to die, or willing to admit it will happen, but let’s just say my purse will be full of tissues when I hit the theaters on May 4, 2018. In order to prepare ourselves, I teamed up with my girl Amy from As The Bunny Hops. Together, we created a viewing schedule for all the Marvel Cinematic Universe films – one a week until Infinity War hits theaters. We even did all the hard work and found out where you can watch them.
As I am sure you know by now, I am a HUGE Marvel fan. I am also a mom of two little girls. I know I am not the only one out there. So if you have a Marvel Mom in your life, here are 10 things that she needs in her life. Talk about amazing gift ideas – you are sure to make her jump up and down with happiness if you pick her up any of these MARVELous items.
I wish I was a crafty mom, but the truth is, I just am not. Now, if you give me the materials, easy to follow directions, and basically everything I need to create something – I am all over it. I know there are other parents like this out there, so I put together a collection of easy project kits and books that every not so crafty parent can benefit from. All items listed were personally tested by myself and/or my daughters. We had a blast with all of these items – and you and your kids are sure to as well!
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War has conquered both audiences and critics, debuting to $179.1 million – the fifth-biggest domestic opening of all time. When it arrives early on Digital HD, Digital 3D and Disney Movies Anywhere on Sept. 2 and on Blu-ray 3D, Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand on Sept. 13, viewers can join the nonstop action and pick their side – #TeamCap, commanded by Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), or #TeamIronMan, led by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.).
While in LA last month, I got to be one of the first people to see Captain America: Civil War – almost a month before it hit theaters (which is today!). To say I was blown away is an understatement. Most of you know how big of a Marvel fan I am, so I have been looking forward to this film for a long time. I knew going in that it most likely would vary from the comic books, which is a good thing because I like to be surprised (and Joe Russo, one of the Directors, agrees with me), but I was surprised by just how much. It was like watching a whole new story and I loved the way they did it.
Many of you know that I grew up reading Marvel Comics – and I still read them to this day. One of my favorite characters has always been Clint Barton AKA Hawkeye. I don’t know what it is that drew me to him, but I have always loved him. Something about his character and how he grows despite tragedy I guess. So when Thor came out and we first saw Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, he immediately became one of my favorites from the movies. He really embodies Hawkeye perfectly and I cannot picture anyone else playing him.
With Playmation, you can become an Avenger and join forces with your favorite super heroes. My 4 year old was in awe of the repulser gear. When I put it on, her eyes nearly popped out of her head as she exclaimed that I was an Avenger and the coolest mom ever! I did not think she could be any more excited until I powered it on and she heard J.A.R.V.I.S. start explaining to us how to use the repulser gear and what our first mission was. You should have seen us, we were both running around the back yard and blasting the power activators, ducking behind trees (and each other), and laughing hysterically. This was such an incredible bonding experience with my daughter. I am a ridiculously huge Marvel Comics fan so being able to pass on the love for these characters to her in such a unique way was a dream come true.
My young daughters and I love to read and I usually try to theme our books around upcoming holidays. Halloween is one of their favorite holidays so we usually read spooky books starting in early September. I have put together a list of some of our favorites and where you can purchase them. These are great for any little one to help you get in the mood for Halloween!
As you may already know, I was selected to attend the D23 Expo with 24 other amazing bloggers next month and I am beyond excited! From the second I found out I was going, I started thinking costumes! I have always wanted to cosplay at a con and this is my chance. So many thoughts were running through my head. I love Disney, Marvel, & Star Wars equally so what is a girl to choose? Well, there are three days which means three costumes, which means one for each. That is the current plan, however, I cannot say for sure what I will decide on. I am not crafty when it comes to clothing at all. I once made myself a Rogue costume and it was, well, it wasn’t pretty. So if you are not crafty at all and need some cosplay ideas, you have come to the right place. Since I have been researching all week, you get to reap the benefits! Below are my top 10 costumes and where to find them!
