Picture this – a room of 25 bloggers and in walks Chris Pratt to talk about his role as Star-Lord in the latest Guardians of the Galaxy film. Of course, the room erupts in cheers and applause – and Chris loves it. I have interviewed him before, while on the set of GotG Vol 2, so I knew this was going to be a lot of fun. He is so enthusiastic and such a great guy.
As many of you know, I am a HUGE Marvel fan – I mean, my Twitter handle has been MarvelGoddess24 since I joined Twitter. I love the comic books and I love the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). Guardians of the Galaxy (GotG) has been one of my favorite comic book series for years and years now. It always stood out to me because of the unique characters and all of the adventures they go on. When the first movie was announced I was thrilled and when the second one was, I was even more excited. Last year, I got to go on the set of GotG Vol. 2 and it was one of my favorite experiences – until now. I was luckily invited to LA to walk the red carpet premiere and see the film before many others were able to – and my mind was BLOWN.
No set visit is complete without a chat with the director – and James Gunn, director of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, completely agrees with this statement. Even though we were pressed for time and all had flights to catch, he told us not to leave without a chance to talk to him. James even had assistants bring our luggage to our car so that we could have a conversation with him. We were all thrilled to work an interview with James in to our busy schedule. It had been a long day for all of us – James included. He mentioned that there were two sets running at the same time that day, one with Kurt Russell, and one with everybody else – so he had been running back and forth all day. We actually got to see both sets – we interviewed Kurt on his and watched the rest of the cast film on the other. What an experience – I still cannot believe it happened!
Karen Gillan is one bad b*tch in the movies but she is the sweetest thing in real life! I had the chance to sit down and chat with her on the GotGVol2 set!
While on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, one of the actors I was able to interview was Michael Rooker, who reprises his role of Yondu in the sequel. Michael is one of my favorite actors – I absolutely loved him in The Walking Dead as Merle – and as Yondu in the first Guardians movie. To me, he always seemed like he is an off the wall and fun type of guy. And boy was I right! The first thing he did when he walked in the interview room was look all of us ladies right in the face. He said “let me look at you – y’all are purty”. Not many actors take the time to look at you – really look at you – when you are interviewing them. He even asked us several questions throughout the interview, like where we were from and how many kids we each have. It was like he truly wanted to know about us as individuals. I think we all appreciated this, I know I did.
Last May I was totally blessed with the opportunity to check out the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2. I was able to watch part of a scene being filmed, check out the wardrobe and props departments, and oh yeah, interview some of the amazing cast. So of course, I go to interview Mr. Chris Pratt, Star-Lord himself. I have been a fan of Chris’ for a long time – The O.C., Parks and Recreation, Delivery Man – and more recently Jurassic Park and Lego Movie. I follow him on Snapchat (and if you don’t, you should). He is hilarious – and an incredible actor.
Back in May 2016, I got to take a super top secret trip to the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. It was an experience that I will never forget. While there, I got to check out the wardrobe trailer, the props department, and watch a scene of the movie being filmed (I also got to interview most of the cast – those interviews are coming soon!). I don’t think it actually hit me until I had to sign the non-disclosure (and basically my life away) as I entered Marvel Studios. All of a sudden I thought – wow, I am actually at Marvel Studios and am going to see so many behind the scenes stuff for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2! I could put 1,000 exclamation points after that and it still wouldn’t be enough to describe how I was feeling at that moment. As you all know, I am a huge Marvel fan – so this was a pretty amazing experience for me. I am so thrilled to FINALLY be able to tell you guys all about it!
Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2017 – and the time has almost come! I cannot wait to see this movie for so many reasons. I have been counting down the days and we are finally down to just a few months! Read on to see why I am excited for this movie (and why you should be too!).
I am a huge Marvel fan as most of you know, but what you may not know is that the Guardians of the Galaxy comic book series has been one of my favorites for years. So when Marvel announced they were making a movie, I freaked out. I was beyond excited. I couldn’t wait to see it. I loved it and have been itching for the second one since the moment I finished watching the first one on opening night.
As most of you know I am a giant Marvel fan. I have been reading the comics all my life and so I have been loving the movies that Disney has been releasing. They are doing a fantastic job with the characters and story lines. When they announced Guardians of the Galaxy, I was thrilled. Guardians is probably my favorite Marvel comic book ever. My husband and I have been reading it together for years now and we love everything about it. Star-Lord is one of my favorite characters of all time, for so many reasons. And Chris Pratt played him perfectly. In fact, that movie was cast to perfection – I have zero complaints and that says a lot from someone who has been reading the series since I can remember.
