My daughters are much like their mother in that they love collectibles. While my office is filled with things like Funko Pops representing my favorite movies and TV Shows, their rooms are filled with adorable little stuffed animals, like Whiffer Sniffers! From the moment they discovered these, they wanted to collect them all. Whiffer Sniffers easily clip on to backpacks and have unique (and awesome) smells that last a whole year! As their tag line emphasizes, boys and girls love to collect ‘em, give ‘em and trade ‘em!
You might have an idea that I am a big fan of all things Disney. One of my most favorite places on Earth is Walt Disney World, but there is a place in San Francisco, CA that is at the top of my list. I have been lucky enough to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum twice in the last year and it is something that every Disney fan needs to experience. My husband is just as big a Disney fan as I am and I really hope one day he will be able to visit. There is so much to see – and so much to learn about Walt’s life inside those walls!
As I am sure most of you know, I am a HUGE Marvel comic book fan. Before I had kids, I was subscribing to at least 40 comic series a month. Once I had the girls, I had to cut back – it wasn’t even a money so much as a time thing. Recently, I started picking up more and more series. These are my current favorites that I think EVERY Marvel fan should be reading. If you have a favorite that is not on this list, please let me know. I am always open to adding more Marvel series to my list.
My youngest daughter is obsessed with Puppy Dog Pals. I mean OBSESSED. Her fifth birthday party was Puppy Dog Pals – and her cake came out amazing by the way. We made sure that her gift was a Puppy Dog Pals playhouse. This was months ago and she still plays with it every single day. So when I found out that Disney Junior was releasing the first season on DVD, I knew she needed it. They sent us an advance copy and when it came in the mail, she cried happy tears.
My husband and I are both total geeks. We are always purchasing the latest and greatest technologies, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) is something that is very important to us. We are constantly trying to find ways to incorporate these things into our young daughters lives. One thing we spend a lot of time doing together as a family is creating things with building blocks. Recently we discovered E-Blox which incorporates building blocks and creating circuits. Our girls have been having a blast coming up with their own 3D circuits and lighting them up.
Just the other day my husband and I purchased a new coffee pot. Ours was getting old and we had read about one that featured a burr grinder so we decided to upgrade. When we got it home, it was just a tad too tall for our counter. At first, we were totally bummed, but then, we thought a coffee bar might work well in our kitchen. We started pricing them out and – long story short – we ended up building one. In about 24 hours. And it came out amazing. Surprisingly, it was a lot easier than we expected it to be. Here is how you can create your very own coffee bar – in just 4 easy steps!
About a year ago, my family joined the Disney Vacation Club. Our only regret is not joining sooner. Our home resort is the Polynesian and we just stayed there for the first time. To say that our trip was heaven is an understatement. Before this, we had never stayed at a monorail resort. What a difference this makes! Heading to Magic Kingdom and Epcot was ridiculously easy (you can even walk to the transportation center from the Polynesian in less than five minutes!). We ended up taking several breaks in the middle of the day because of the ease of heading back to our room.
As you likely already know, I have a pretty large Guardians of the Galaxy tattoo. In fact, it is a full sleeve on my right arm. Many people have asked me the story behind this tattoo, so I figured I would write it down. This is something that had been planned for years. Not drawn out for years, but I knew I wanted something Guardians of the Galaxy for a long while. It has been one of my favorite comic book series since I can remember and I knew I wanted to honor it. It was all about finding the right artist to do it. The artist that I trusted to make it perfect.
My girls are growing like weeds – and I don’t think I am the only parent with this problem. They outgrow their clothes so quickly, that I really can’t justify shopping as often as we need to. I have spent time shopping at consignment stores but there is always so much to go through. Not to mention, it really is hard to find the time to get out there. Luckily, there is an easy site to shop at – Swap.com – where you can browse more gently used clothing than you could ever imagine. And not just for kids, for adults too!
One thing that is very important in my line of work is a good computer. Especially one that you can take with you on the go. If you have been following my site for a while, then you know I travel often. I need a computer that is reliable and is easy to use while I am away. The work never ends for me and I am basically always on the clock. So I was really excited to learn about the Google Pixelbook – and the fact that I can save $100 on one at Best Buy from March 25th to April 7th!
