Star Wars: The Force Awakens shattered box office records upon its debut to become the cinematic event of a generation with over $926 million domestic and $2.05 billion worldwide. As announced this morning by Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Robert A. Iger at The Walt Disney Company’s Annual Meeting of Shareholders, the epic movie will be available to own early on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on April 1. It comes home on Blu-ray Combo Pack and DVD on April 5.

In our house we are HUGE fans of Disney! Frozen and Star Wars are two of our favorites from them and trust me, we love to show off how we feel about them. Every single time we walk out our front door my 3 year old starts belting the words to “Let It Go!” (I imagine this is because of all the snow we have here in Upstate New York but it could honestly be for any reason). When we went to Disney World in October, they were thrilled to meet Anna & Elsa (and OK mommy was too). I am bummed that we missed Kylo Ren (hope he is still there when we go next time), but the Star Tours ride was my 4 year old’s favorite.

This afternoon, with early box office results in, STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS became the highest grossing film of all time in the domestic market, surpassing the $760.5M lifetime gross of Avatar in a record-shattering 20 days of release. In addition, the film crossed the $800M mark at the international box office today! Through Jan. 5, the film had grossed $758.2M domestically and $799.1M for a global total of $1,557.3M since its Dec. 16 global debut.

Earlier this week was the World Premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. I would have given anything to be at the Dolby, El Capitan, or the TCL Theaters that night – but alas, I have settled for seeing the movie this afternoon. I was told that this premiere was bigger than the Oscars and there were hundreds of celebrities there to see it. The red carpet was even streamed live on! In case you live under a rock and know nothing about this film, below are the trailer and the synopsis. After that, are some of my favorite photos from the premiere. There were literally hundreds to look through so it was hard to choose my favorites – and I did not want to overwhelm you guys. Oh, and after I see the film later today, I will be sure to post a spoiler free review for you guys. As someone who grew up on Star Wars and am now passing the love on to my girls, I am really looking forward to seeing it!

I am a huge Star Wars fan – HUGE! My husband and I already have our tickets to see The Force Awakens opening day. We have had a babysitter planned since they announced the release date and we have been counting down the days for quite some time. I can’t believe how soon it is! Eeek! Since we have been having to wait, we have been doing other things to curb our Star Wars cravings we have been watching the original Star Wars trilogies and playing Star Wars games. A new one to our collection (and a quick favorite) is Star Wars Pictopia from Wonder Forge Games.

You all know how much I love Star Wars. I am so excited about this new movie (and the coloring and activity sheets I just received) that I had to log on here and share them with you on the eve of my move. Yup, tomorrow I head to a new home (just 20 minutes away) and the entire house is packed up – but I just had to make sure you guys got these amazing sheets ASAP. My husband and I have had our tickets to see The Force Awakens for quite some time now. Since Fandango broke the internet during Monday Night Football to be exact. We have been waiting for this movie for longer than I can seem to remember. I just know it is going to be amazing. If you are one of those people that has never seen a Star Wars (shame!), get yourself caught up now before the new one comes out. You have exactly 2 weeks – EEK! – and you will thank me!

The time has finally arrived! Last night, the official Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer debuted during halftime of Monday Night Football. Even though I was still exhausted from my Disney trip and fighting a little bit of a cold, I stayed up to watch it. And then I watched it again – and again. I think the grand total was about 15 times. My husband and I would pause it and speculate on every little detail. Last night also marked the day that you could first buy advance tickets – and the force broke Fandango. I was unable to get my tickets last night, but plan to try again a little later today. Everyone was online trying to secure their spot to be one of the first to watch the film.

As most of you know I am a HUGE Star Wars fan! But something you may not know – I am also a huge football fan. I am thrilled to let you know that two of my favorite things are combining tonight – the Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer is debuting during halftime on ESPN’s Monday Night Football tonight (Monday 10/19/2015) when the New York Giants take on the Philadelphia Eagles in Philadelphia! The game starts at 5:15 p.m. PDT/8:15 p.m. EDT. Oh, and Lucasfilm also released the final version of the poster yesterday. Swoon. I am counting the down the days for this movie. My husband and I are seriously considering attending the midnight showing of it. We need to make up our minds quickly though because following the trailer launch, tickets to this highly anticipated cinematic event will be on sale everywhere movie tickets are sold! I have a Fandango gift card that is burning a hole in my pocket and anxiously awaiting for tonight!
