It is the last day of the year guys – wow, did 2015 fly by or what? There were so many amazing movie and guess what? Plenty more amazing ones are coming out in 2016! One of those is Zootopia – and I want you to celebrate Zoo Year’s Eve tonight with the brand new trailer for ZOOTOPIA featuring the all-new original song “Try Everything,” written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate, and performed by Grammy-winning international superstar Shakira. It is incredible and the single will be available everywhere 1/8/16. Revered worldwide by herds of fans, Shakira voices Zootopia’s biggest pop star Gazelle who is a socially conscious celebrity with equal parts talent and heart. I for one, cannot wait to see her in this movie, she is going to be great!
Since the moment I heard about Zootopia, I knew it was a movie that I would be taking my daughters to see. I was lucky enough to get the inside scoop and see some great clips (like the Sloth clip you can check out in the preview below) before others when I attended the D23 Expo and that just solidified my thoughts. When I took my daughters to go see a movie in the theater recently, there was a preview for Zootopia and after seeing that on the big screen, it has been all they will talk about. They cannot wait to go, and I promised them, when it comes out in early March 2016, we will be there. I personally cannot wait to go myself – I just know it will be a hit!
My husband is an engineer by trade so he is really big in to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning. He thinks that these are all very important things for kids to start learning early on, and I have to agree with him. We are always doing little experiments with our young daughters and will continue to do so as they get older. They tend to really take to these types of projects when they involve characters that they already know and love – like the cast of Frozen. So of course we just had to get the Disney Imagicademy Frozen Science Activity Book from Wonder Forge for them. Now, this does state it is before for kids ages 4 and up, and I tend to agree. Although my 3 year old can do some of the things herself, and loves to help out best she can with others!
You all know how much I love Star Wars. I am so excited about this new movie (and the coloring and activity sheets I just received) that I had to log on here and share them with you on the eve of my move. Yup, tomorrow I head to a new home (just 20 minutes away) and the entire house is packed up – but I just had to make sure you guys got these amazing sheets ASAP. My husband and I have had our tickets to see The Force Awakens for quite some time now. Since Fandango broke the internet during Monday Night Football to be exact. We have been waiting for this movie for longer than I can seem to remember. I just know it is going to be amazing. If you are one of those people that has never seen a Star Wars (shame!), get yourself caught up now before the new one comes out. You have exactly 2 weeks – EEK! – and you will thank me!
My daughters love to use their imaginations and pretend they are all sorts of things. I love to encourage them with as many different tools as I can and so when I heard about Bramble Box, I just knew it was something that I needed them to try out. Bramble Box is a subscription box service for pretend play props for children. Not only is it a small, family run business, but their boxes are jam packed full of fun and learning to promote hours and hours of play!
I don’t know about you, but I am counting down the days until The Good Dinosaur is in theaters! My girls have been asking me nearly every day when we will be going to see it. They are not exactly thrilled when I tell them it will be about a month, but they are excited that we plan to take them opening day. This movie is going to be so good – I just know it. I got to see a little bit of the footage at the D23 Expo this past summer and WOW! Disney/Pixar is bringing it with this one guys. There will be lots of feels, so take tissues along. In the spirit of Halloween (this weekend!) I wanted to share with you a Good Dinosaur pumpkin stencil. Someone please carve this and send me a picture, I would love to see it! There are also some new activity sheets for you to print and share with your kiddos! Have fun!
I love to color. It has always been something that I like to do to relax and de-stress. As a matter of fact, on my honeymoon to Disney (6 years ago now), I bought a Disney Princess coloring book that I have been coloring in for years. I was so excited when I had my girls because I knew that soon enough I would have a couple of lifetime coloring buddies (or at least for several years). Recently adult coloring parties have been all the rage and I am so excited about this! There is nothing like a good coloring session to melt away the stress and get the brain working. Coloring is such a great way to express your emotions and your creativity! I was so excited to discover the RELAX Mandala coloring book that is specifically made for adults.d your creativity! I was so excited to discover the
I am getting really excited for Disney Live! next month (November 15 at The Oncenter). I cannot wait for it to come to my town. I have partnered with Feld Entertainment to bring you guys some fun (and free!) printable activity sheets. My girls have been having a blast with these all morning! They even found a pumpkin stencil they can both agree on (finally) so it looks like we will have a Mickey pumpkin this year! We just got back from a week at Disney World so these were a lot of fun for them. Download the activities below for lots of Disney fun with your little ones, and don’t forget to find Disney Live! presents Three Classic Fairy Tales Presented by Stonyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt near you!
My fellow blogger and friend over at As The Bunny Hops recently posted an amazing DIY duct tape bag that she made to look like Oogie Boogie from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I showed my husband and asked if he thought we could make them a little bit bigger and use them as the girls’ trick or treat bags for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disney World when we go. He pondered for a moment and then said “well, why not – but with actual burlap instead of duct tape.” So we headed to our local craft store and the rest is history!
My four year old loves activity books. She is getting really good at doing word searches and spot the difference and other puzzles like that all on her own and I think that is why. She is also really big in to all things spooky and scary and monsters. This year she wanted her birthday party to be Nightmare Before Christmas. I knew right away that she would love Monstrous Fun – and she does. She gets a kick out of the fact that it says “Not for Humans” on the front. She tells me every time that she pulls it out that they are just joking because she is a human.
