If you follow me on social media, than you probably saw the brand new Shakira music video for “Try Everything” that I posted yesterday. I am a little bit obsessed with it and already watched it several times. It is from Disney’s upcoming movie Zootopia, which hits theaters nationwide on March 4, 2016. That very same day, Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack to Zootopia – so be sure to grab it. The “Try Everything” single is available now at digital retail (click here to get it). In Zootopia, Shakira will be playing beloved superstar, Gazelle. “Try Everything” is an all new and original song written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate – just for Zootopia! Shakira is a Grammy winner – and I cannot wait to see her in Zootopia. The film looks hilarious, fantastic – and it is from Disney so you know it is going to be amazing. I cannot wait to take my girls opening weekend! Watch the music video below – and let me know what you think!
I love going with my family to special events. We enjoy going to concerts, shows, and other cultural and local arts performances. Now that the girls are getting a little bit older, we can do a lot more with them. My husband and I have always looked forward to these types of outings and now they are starting to as well. So when I hears about Symphoria (a fully professional orchestra serving Syracuse and Central New York), I was pretty excited! I didn’t know there was something so amazing so close.
While at the D23 Expo, we had the chance to attend Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration. I had really been looking forward to this the entire trip because I love the Silly Symphony cartoons. I grew up watching them because my mom loved them so much. They are a fond memory for me and I always thought they were so much fun. This event was hosted by film historian Leonard Maltin and it was incredible to attend. Silly Symphony shorts were played on large screens as a 32 piece orchestra accompanied them with their original soundtracks. The precision was amazing. The orchestra had to be on point in order to accompany the cartoons so well – and they were. I especially loved watching the man who was making the fun sounds like ducks quacking. It was very entertaining to see up close and personal. The music was performed as it would have been recorded during those historic days at the Disney Studios on Hyperion Avenue in the 1920s and ’30s. Just knowing that gave me chills while watching it. Many of the 75 Silly Symphony shorts were performed, but my favorites included Three Little Pigs, The Old Mill, The Ugly Duckling, and of course, The Skeleton Dance. I also really enjoyed learning a bit more about Walt and seeing him talk about the different shorts we were about to watch.
Walt Disney Records’ newly created line of collectible CDs, Walt Disney Records The Legacy Collection, celebrates the anniversaries of Disney’s most cherished and classic properties that have been enchanting audiences for generations. Through 2015, Walt Disney Records will celebrate 12 anniversaries including “Pinocchio” (75th), “Fantasia” (75th), “Cinderella” (65th), “Lady and the Tramp” (60th), “Sleeping Beauty” (55th), “Mary Poppins” (50th), “The Lion King” (20th) and “Toy Story” (20th), among others. Boy oh boy, do those numbers make me feel old. I remember growing up with these classics. I still cannot believe Toy Story was 20 years ago – I am showing my age with that one as I saw it in theaters at age 11!

I just finished listening to this album and I was blown away. Of course, it has all my favorite Mariah songs and I could not be any happier. I would love to see her live in Las Vegas – or anywhere for that matter- fingers crossed! Mariah Carey #1 To Infinity gathers – for the first time ever – one career-spanning chronological collection of all 18 of her Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles (17 self-penned), more than any solo artist in history. Included as the final track on the collection is Mariah’s breathtaking new single, “Infinity” (co-written and produced by Mariah). Below is the track list for this album.
