I have told you before I am sure, but Carol Danvers has been one of my favorite Marvel ladies for a long time. Back when she was Ms. Marvel, she was amazing, and I was hooked on her story lines. And then she became Captain Marvel, which was insanely cool. She is a total badass. Super strong. She can take down Iron Man guys. And HARD! With the Captain Marvel movie hitting theaters this March, all fans should be familiar with some story lines. Here are the five comic books that I recommend reading before you go see Captain Marvel.

Black Panther is hitting theaters in February 2018 and is highly anticipated by Marvel fans everywhere. I am certainly one of those fans who is dying to see what Marvel does with this film. Admittedly, I am sad knowing that Storm won’t be in it – but thanks to that exciting deal being worked out by Disney and Fox, we might see her in the future! Wakanda is one of my favorite places in the Marvel Comics world, so seeing it become a part of the MCU is pretty awesome. If you don’t normally read the comics, but want a good background on the man himself, Black Panther, before heading to theaters in February, here are 5 books I think you should pick up.
Let’s face it, 2017 has already been a pretty good year for movies. Especially for geeks like me! I mean, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Logan, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and now we have Thor: Ragnarok to look forward to. I know I have told you guys time after time, but I am am a pretty big comic book fan. I have been reading Marvel Comics since I was a little girl – and Thor has always been a favorite of mine. I am really looking forward to Marvel’s Inhumans coming to ABC in September. The Inhumans comic book series is one of my favorites and has been for a long time. The characters are all amazing and the story lines always have me hooked. Black Bolt and Medusa are one of my absolute favorite comic book couples. Now, I know many people out there don’t know much about The Inhumans. I put together a list of my favorite trade paperbacks that are sure to get you hooked on them – and also ready for the ABC TV Series!
If you are a fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy films, take it from a comic book nerd like me, there are some books you just HAVE to read. If you want some great movie tie-ins and backgrounds on your favorite characters, these are the ones for you. Ideally, I would love to convince you all to go to your local comic book shop or look online and pick up every single issue that any of the Guardians appear in – but that is asking A LOT, I know. So I put together 5 of my favorite comic books (OK, a few are trade paperbacks) that any Marvel Cinematic Universe fan should pick up.
Avengers: Endgame is going to be hitting theaters THIS MONTH – and the hype is REAL guys! I cannot wait to see this movie on the big screen. I need closure! Of course we have yet to see too much, but as I mentioned in my Endgame trailer two breakdown and Endgame special look breakdown – we do have some information. However, I live by the motto never trust the Russo Brothers, so who really knows what we will see. As an avid comic book reader, I am going to do my best to prepare with the 5 comics you should read before seeing it. But since we haven’t really gotten any information on where the story is going, this is all speculation at this point.
I took my daughters to see Captain Marvel on opening night and the whole family loved it. I already wrote a spoiler free review, but now that the movie has been out a few days I am ready to get in to the spoilers with you. If you have not seen this movie or want to avoid Captain Marvel spoilers, bookmark this post for a later time. As a comic book reader I can tell you a lot of things were changed, but they all made sense to me in the end.
Last night I finally was able to see Captain Marvel in theaters. I felt like I had been waiting way too long to see it, probably because I was on the set a year ago. As a big fan of Carol Danvers in the comics, sure there were some changes. Two in particular upset me at first (but that is for another post), however it all came together and made sense in the end. This was the first Marvel movie my daughters, ages 6 and 7, saw in theaters, and now they are begging for more! We all really enjoyed the film, from beginning to end.
If you didn’t know, I am a big comic book collector and reader. I have…
