I just recently watched all 6 seasons of American Horror Story. I have been told many times it was something I needed to do – and I was always interested in watching them, I just never got around to it. Well, I decided it was finally time and binged watched them all the way through. I decided to rank them in order of my favorite – however, I highly recommend watching them in order. Even though they are totally different stories, they do link together and give other seasons nods here and there. Many of the actors appear in more than one season (in fact, most of the main cast are in all of the seasons) but they play totally different characters. I find this really interesting and it is part of the reason I just love this show. It proves that these actors are incredibly talented because they can play different roles with such ease.

I am a huge fan of horror. If my husband and I are sitting down to a movie, I more often than not request a horror movie. One of my all time favorite shows is The Walking Dead – I just love zombies (like, to the point where my 3 year old loves zombies as well)! One of my favorite authors is Stephen King, but I enjoy reading all horror books. When I was growing up, I read a lot, and I always loved reading Goosebumps and Fear Street books. Something about being scared is just – well – it’s pretty awesome. So when I found out that there was a Horror Pop Culture Subscription Box – Horror Block – I was so excited! I knew right away that it had to be good because it came from the same people as Nerd Block, which I love.

Black Summer takes place in a zombie apocalypse, but these zombies are …. different. I admit, this show hooked me right from the start!
There are so many great television shows out there, and this is the perfect time to binge them! Here is my recommended list of summer binge series that you can find on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Hulu!
If you know me, you know I love to be scared. Why? I have no idea, but I do. One movie that terrified me as a child was IT. Of course I went to see the remake – and that scared the heck out of me too. Pennywise was creepy in 1990 — but this new version?! No thank you. But also YES. Because he is amazingly scary. When I first heard that IT: Chapter Two was going to happen, I wasn’t sure what to think. Pennywise is literally the reason I hate clowns. But we just got the IT: Chapter Two trailer – and all I can say is WOW.
When I first heard that M. Night Shyamalan was making a movie called Glass, that would combine two of my favorite movies (Unbreakable and Split), I was thrilled. Sure, this was teased at the end of Split, sort of, but I didn’t expect it to ever happen. I figured it was just a fun way of combining the worlds of two characters with superhuman abilities. Most of Glass was predictable, and it was even slow at parts, but the acting of James McAvoy and Bruce Willis, along with some amazing action scenes, saved it for me.
My family loves to game together. We enjoy all types of games, especially video games and board games. But our newest favorite is a combination of both of these – Mansions of Madness. The last few Sundays have become our day to play and we have loved the bonding experience. This is a co-op game, so it is one that we play all together. The box says ages 14+ because it is super creepy – I mean, we are fighting monsters and creatures – but my girls are 6 and 7 and they LOVE it.
2018 is coming to an end and it was a fantastic year for movies! 2019 looks like it will be just as good – if not better. As we close out the year, I wanted to share with you all my top 10 movies of 2018 (plus some honorable mentions). Now, I didn’t see every movie I was hoping to this year, but I saw a good amount. Let me know your favorites of the year too!
After seeing the fist trailer for The House With A Clock in Its Walls my daughters REALLY wanted to see it. My youngest is 5 years old so I just wasn’t sure if it was going to be too much for her. Even some parts of the trailer spooked her a little. The after the second trailer came out I decided for sure we would wait until the home release. My 7 year old was a little upset about this, but agreed. So imagine how excited we were when an advance copy of the blu-ray showed up at our door!
