My husband is big into the latest and greatest technology. For years, he has been talking about littleBits and how he couldn’t wait to get our young daughters started on coding and creating circuits. He is right when he says this is an ultra important skill for kids to have these days. littleBits use magnets to help kids easily put together circuits for all kinds of inventing. While in LA for the Thor: Ragnarok Event, I had lunch with them to get a hands-on experience with the Star Wars Droid Inventor Kits. My daughters and husband were thrilled when a couple of these kits arrived at our house for them to play with!
We are a huge Disney family, so of course we saw Cars 3 in theaters. It immediately became of my favorite Disney movies. The lesson that it teaches is incredible – and an important one for kids. Cars 3 is sure to touch your heart. You will laugh, and in true Disney fashion, you might even cry. I know I did. The blu-ray just hit stores today, but I was lucky enough to get an advance copy. I think that every single bonus feature is a must watch!
You might not recognize Rachel House from many films – unless you watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople like I suggested. But I guarantee you would remember her voice. She voiced Gramma Tala in Moana, and now she is in Thor: Ragnarok. Her character, Topaz, is one of the best characters in the film if you ask me. She is hilarious! I honestly don’t know how she kept a straight face while filming – but we did ask her about it in this exclusive interview!
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters today and what better way to celebrate than to start shopping for Thor collectibles! To go along with this movie release, there are some pretty amazing products, and I want to tell you all about them. They are perfect for Marvel fans of all ages. Trust me, I want all of them!
As you likely know already, I have done a fair amount of celebrity interviews in the last few years. My recent one with Karl Urban sticks out in my mind, however, because he is the nicest guy in the world. Seriously. To paint you a picture – the interview room was set up with three rows of chairs, filled with 25 bloggers. When he walked into the room, he proceeded to walk up and down each row, shaking all of our hands – and looking us in the eyes as he said hi. I was blown away! I was already really looking forward to this interview, but that is the exact moment I knew it was going to be great.
I have always thought it would be really cool to attend to press junket with the cast of a film. A couple of weeks ago in LA, I was able to attend my first one – and for Thor: Ragnarok of all movies! On stage was HUGE talent – Taika Waititi, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Rachel House, and Kevin Feige. It was pretty surreal to be in the same room as them, and to be able to chat with them about their new film. This is a long one guys, and I even cut out a lot. Hope you enjoy it!
Taika Waititi is one of my favorite directors. I love all of his work, so I was thrilled when I found out he was directing Thor: Ragnarok. In case you some how missed it, I am a bit of a Marvel fan. So knowing he was in charge of a Marvel movie made my heart happy. The man is brilliant. His movies always have humor in them – but can also be deep, and even action packed! I just could not wait to see it. And then, something incredible happened. I was invited to LA to walk the red carpet at the premiere AND interview Taika! I basically screamed out loud when I found out!
The latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to hit theaters in the U.S. and is already at 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Thor: Ragnarok is packed with a stellar cast and lots of laughs! In order to help celebrate, The Hopping Bloggers have come together to give one lucky winner a HUGE Thor: Ragnarok prize pack worth $250!
My daughters are head over heels in love with the latest addition to Disney Junior – Vampirina! We tuned in for the debut on October 1st and have been watching it ever since. It quickly became a favorite of mine as well because of the great lessons it teaches my girls. Even within the first episode it was clear that the creators of Vampirina wanted kids to know that everyone is the same on the inside. Yes, Vampirina is a vampire, but that doesn’t mean she can’t make friends. Every time she lets a friend in on her secret, they accept her for who she is.
While in LA for the Thor: Ragnarok premiere, we were lucky enough to interview some of the cast and filmmakers. The day of our interviews we were surprised with an addition to that list, Kevin Feige. I was over the moon excited because he is the President of Marvel Studios and a brilliant man! I previously interviewed Kevin a few months ago at the Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 press event along with James Gunn. That still remains one of my most favorite interviews ever so I was eager to talk with him again.
