Zootopia+ brings fans back to a world they haven’t been to since 2016, Zootopia! This collection of six shorts lets viewers peak behind the curtain at the events that were doing on during the film, but we never saw.
Did you ever wonder about Priscilla’s wedding planning? What it is like for the waitstaff that has to serve Flash at a restaurant? Or Duke Weaselton’s singing ability? Well, look no further because these shorts will give you all of that and more. With each one brilliantly and surprisingly tied to the feature film, Zootopia, the Zootopia+ shorts tell a little bit more of the story in hilarious and fun ways.
The original voice cast is back for all of the characters that we see on screen, making the shorts feel more believable. It truly feels like we are seeing several small additions to the plot of the film, which in turns allows the story to fill out better. After watching Zootopia+, you will never look at Zootopia the same way again. Certain moments that might have felt like throwaway moments will now have more meaning than ever. Long time fans of Zootopia will be thrilled with these new stories that involve their favorite secondary characters.
The shorts themselves range from six to nine minutes, including the opening title sequence and the credits. This means they are an easy binge as you are able to watch them all in less than an hour. Some are silly, some are intense, and all of them are visually stunning. The animation team was able to create the same look and feel, while updating the visuals to be better resolution and even more life like — it has been six years after all.
Fans of Zootopia are sure to love getting to explore a bit more to the story than we already saw, while this is the perfect introduction to the world for newcomers. Zootopia+ is now streaming on Disney+, so cuddle up on the couch and enjoy getting to know a little bit more about everyone’s favorite metropolis.
