Phineas and Ferb Season 5 Brilliantly Welcomes Fans Back To The Chaos

Phineas and Ferb season 5 is the perfect welcome back to this world for fans, making it feel like we never even left our favorite summer. This review is based solely on the first two episodes of the new season.

Phineas and Ferb season 5 review
PHINEAS AND FERB – “Model Pack” (Disney) PHINEAS, FERB

Ten years ago, we said an emotional goodbye to Phineas and Ferb. They entertained us with countless wild inventions and crazy schemes as their sister, Candace, worked tirelessly to get them in trouble. But in a world of reboots and revivals, I am extremely thankful that Phineas and Ferb, one of my favorite television series, has made its way back to the small screen.

PHINEAS AND FERB – “Summer Block Buster” (Disney) PHINEAS

From the very first line in Phineas and Ferb season 5, fans are welcomed back to this world as if we never left. It may have only been nine months for the characters, but it has been far longer for us, and it is so, so good to be back.

This series is known for its catchy songs, and even though I have only seen the first two episodes of the season (four shorts), I can promise you that they are following this trend, as I cannot stop singing the latest hits. They are just as meta, honest, and hilarious as they have been in the past. Thankfully, Bowling For Soup is back as well.

PHINEAS AND FERB – “Summer Block Buster” (Disney) CANDACE

Part of the reason this revival works as well and as seamlessly as it does is because the original cast has returned. All of the characters sound and look exactly the same. It might be a school year later, but none of them have aged, and I love that. Candace is just as determined to catch her brothers as she was the previous summer – that girl will never learn that no matter how hard she tries, they will always outsmart without even trying to.

PHINEAS AND FERB – “Summer Block Buster” (Disney) DOOFENSHMIRTZ, NORM

Of course, it wouldn’t be Phineas and Ferb without Dr. Doofenshmirtz coming up with crazy inators and trying to take over the Tri-State area. We might have thought he gave up being evil, but as soon as summer rolled around, he decided to go back to his old ways. I was worried about how they would handle this but honestly, it is perfect.

PHINEAS AND FERB – “Model Pack” (Disney) PERRY

Doofenshmirtz return to evil means that Agent P must go back to stopping him in his tracks. While Perry never officially retired (we see him taking on a metal scorpion when he is called to go up against Doofenshmirtz for the first time this season), it is great to see the two nemisis battling it out again.

PHINEAS AND FERB – “Model Pack” (Disney) DOOFENSHMIRTZ

I have always loved this show, and sometimes, when something like this comes back, it is subpar. Not this time. It is clear that just as much love and attention has gone into the newest season of Phineas and Ferb as the previous ones. This is very much a continuation, seamlessly connecting the final episode we saw ten years ago to the first one of season 5.

Get ready to spend another 104 days of summer vacation with these brothers as they do their best to make this school break a memorable one. They sure are off to a great start.

The new season of Phineas and Ferb returns June 5 on Disney Channel and June 6 on Disney+.
