House of the Dragon Season 2: Blood and Cheese Story Is Here

House of the Dragon season 2 kicks off the long awaited Blood and Cheese storyline, discturbing parents everywhere.

House of the Dragon Season 2: Blood and Cheese

House of the Dragon is back for its second season, and the premiere episode does not disappoint. Hot off the heels of a season three announcement, House of the Dragon was sure to not waste any time giving the fans what they want — the Blood and Cheese storyline.

Readers of the book have been waiting with baited breath for this horrific, yet strangely satisfying, plot line to hit the screen. The wait is now over and trust us when we say, parents everywhere will be squeezing their children tighter after this episode.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for House of the Dragon Season 2 Episode 1.

Blood and Cheese Finally Arrives

House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones are no strangers to killing off children. In fact, in the season one finale they did just that by shockingly killing off Lucerys Velaryon. Dameon is ready to enact revenge is support of Rhaenyra, who is losing herself to grief. She refuses to believe that her son is dead until she sees proof, and spends much of her time in the premiere episode searching for just that.

Dameon orders an eye for an eye, a son’s death for a son’s death, but what follows is more horrific and brutal than anyone can imagine. To viewers, it appears that Aemond did not intend to murder young Luke, but that doesn’t mean the death didn’t happen. Dameon wishes Aemond dead, and sends someone to do just that.

The killer joins forces with a castle rat catcher, gaining himself access to the castle. However, when Aemond is nowhere to be found, revenge still must be served. This is where things get down right disturbing.

Aemond’s brother, the supposed King Aegon II, has two children. A young boy, Jaehaerys, and young girl, Jaehaera. Earlier in the episode we see his son being an absolute menace, disturbing important meetings and driving members of the council crazy. However, he is the heir to the throne and all must deal with this. Also, he is a child still and any parent knows that it is normal for kids to have days like these.

With Aemond not at the castle, the intruder decides that Dameon’s orders must be carried out, and justice must be served. When he happens upon the twins and their mother, he forces her to point out which is the boy, threatening to kill both if she does not. Not only does he murder this young, innocent child, he saws off his head — something that is especially hard to watch for parents.

House of the Dragon season 2 episode 1 is nearly an hour long, and certainly features other interesting events such as Alicent and Cole’s romantic relationship and Mysaria arriving in Dragonstone, however it is the Blood and Cheese storyline that is sure to stick with all viewers.

Consequences are sure to come, and most likely very quickly. House of the Dragon season 2 is setting itself up to be more intense than the previous, as the fight for the throne gets personal. As any mother will agree, messing with the children is uncalled for, and this is sure to keep the war going strong.
