Hogwarts Legacy is taking the world by storm, or at least Harry Potter fans by storm. Here is our review of the new immersive video game.
Hogwarts Legacy Review: It Is Pure Magic
The world is full of Harry Potter fans. Fans that have waited years for the right video game to along. Sure, we have been blessed with fun ones like LEGO Harry Potter, but there has never been a fully immersive video game that allows us, the fans, to step into the world of Harry Potter. To attend Hogwarts ourselves. To opt to go the dark wizard route or use our magic for good. To place the sorting hat on our heads and discover what house we are in. Until now.
Hogwarts Legacy is a game like no other. It is an open world game that allows everything we just mentioned and more. It delivers pure magic to those who love this world. Set years before Harry Potter was even born, it makes sure that we are able to go on our own journey. Of course, there are many references to the books and films that we all know so well, but this game is so much more than that.
Lots Of Challenging Puzzles
There is a lot to the Hogwarts Legacy game, allowing for 100+ hours of game play. There are several different types of puzzles that will keep players entertained, as well as stumped. From math problems to unlock doors, to needing to discover which spell to use so you can open a chest, this is not a typical game.
There are literally hundreds of puzzles to solve throughout Hogwarts Legacy. Each of which has a special tie to the wizarding world and allows for more hours of fun.
Perfect For Completionists
Besides all of the puzzles, there are many items to collect. From beasts, which you are eventually able to breed, to plants for potions, and talents that expand your skill set, the creators behind Hogwarts Legacy have literally thought of everything.
Harry Potter fans will be thrilled to see all of the things that included in the game that have ties to the world they already know and love. Sure, things needed to be adjusted in order to make the game work, but there is nothing that stands out as completely false. Not to mention, Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s which means things could have always changed a little bit. After all, Hogwarts is a living castle so it is not a far stretch of the imagination for things to evolve.
If you are someone like me, who strives to hit 100% on every game they play, this is the game for you. It will provide you with hours and hours of gameplay. Also, because there are four houses and four common rooms to explore, you can play it through at least four times. Add in that you can go to the dark side if you wish, and you have opened up the doors for eight different play throughs.
There are many side missions that you can tackle if you want to, or you can stay on the main story playthrough, which is an absolute blast.
Interesting Story
We want to remain spoiler free in this review, but just know that the story Hogwarts Legacy tells is an intriguing one. Right from the start twists and turns will be thrown at you. As you progress in the story, and the plot starts to all come together, there is a lot to love.
While the entire game really is about allowing yourself to become a wizard, there are many things to love about Hogwarts Legacy. It is available in stores now, and if you are a Harry Potter fan, you don’t want to miss it.
