Frozen 3, Toy Story 5, and Zootopia 2 In The Works: Three Major Animated Disney Film Sequels In The Works!
Frozen 3, Toy Story 5, and Zootopia 2 In The Works
Disney CEO Bob Iger announced today that three animated sequels for Toy Story, Frozen, and Zootopia are in the works on the Q1 earnings call.
The last three installments of each of those animated franchises were huge global grossing hits on the big screen, read Frozen 2 ($1.45 billion), Toy Story 4 ($1.07 billion) and Zootopia ($1.02 billion).
While we are assuming that these are going to be feature films, they could certainly be Disney+ series — especially in the case of Toy Story.
Toy Story 5 In The Works
When Toy Story 4 came out, many fans wondered… why?? However, not only did this Pixar film succeed at the box office, it seemed to complete Woody’s story. But where can they go from here?
Both Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4 felt like finite endings to the franchise.
Perhaps we can explore what Buzz Lightyear and the gang get up to without Woody? Or more of Bonnie? Only time will tell.
Frozen 3 In The Works
It should come as no surprise that everyone’s favorite sisters, Anna and Elsa, will be coming back in their own trilogy with Frozen 3.
Arguably the most successful of Disney Animation’s recent films, fans of all ages have fallen in love with Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Sven, and Kirstoff. Perhaps a royal wedding is in order?
Zootopia 2 In The Works
Zootopia was wildly popular (you see what we did there?). The Zootopia+ shorts that just recently made their way to Disney+ were also a big hit.
Fans have been waiting a long time to see Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde back on the screen and now they will be able to.
What story will Zootopia 2 be telling? Well, since the news just broke we don’t really have a clue. But whatever it is, we are eager to reenter their favorite metropolis!
