Mythic Quest season 2 is just as good as the first season – in fact, it is better – with more laughs, and more backstories.

Mythic Quest: Titan’s Rift has the perfect name for a season that is filled with drama, feuding, and well, a big rift between the two creative directors, Poppy and Ian. If you enjoyed the first season, chances are you are going to appreciate this one even more. There is so much to love about it, and very little to dislike about it. With just nine episodes, the season flies by, almost too fast, but is sure to leave fans hoping for a third season.
In this season of Mythic Quest the team is working on an expansion, but with Poppy and Ian both having their own ideas, a rift in the office is created. That coupled with the drama between Jo, David, and Brad, more focus on the testers, and a deep dive into one employee’s backstory, make this a must watch season.
What Works With Mythic Quest: Titan’s Rift
Because the characters are already so well established, season 2 can dive deeper into their relationships with each other, which works so perfectly. The interactions between Jo, David, and Brad are some of the best in the whole show, and that wouldn’t have worked if it wasn’t for the set up in the first season. Another relationship that is explored more in this season is that of the “testers” Dana and Rachel. I loved spending more time with them and watching their friendship grow.
If you remember the episode that seemed to be a random standalone in the first season, get ready for another one in season two. However, the episode after that expands what viewers learn in that one, about one of the greatest characters in the show, and get ready to maybe even shed a few tears. Honestly, those two episodes are a couple of my favorites from the series so far.
Just like with season one, gamers will be thrilled with all the references to the gaming world. There are some amazing cut scenes, some hilarious moments that involve a goat, and a whole lot of stunning gameplay. Since Mythic Quest has teamed up with Ubisoft, fans of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and other games from the developer might notice some familiar characters.
My favorite thing about this season though is how it is one long continuous story. Even the “standalone” episode ends up fitting in, and propelling the plot as a whole forward. This season is better than the first in several ways, but for me, the best part is the cohesive story… that ends with me wanting so much more.
What Doesn’t Work With Mythic Quest: Titan’s Rift
There isn’t a whole lot to put in this category because season two of Mythic Quest is pretty epic. There are some moments where things slow down, or where jokes didn’t land right for me, but when looking at the season as whole, I have to say it is darn near perfect. There isn’t much to complain about.
If I had to nitpick I would have liked a bit more actual gameplay, like we saw in season one. However, that being said, there is a reason we don’t and I can allow it.
Overall Thoughts
Mythic Quest: Titan’s Rift dives further into the characters that fans came to love (or love to hate) in season one. Several episodes had me getting misty eyed and the story arc was completed perfectly over nine episodes. The humor is still there, with a couple of misses, but overall some great jokes and laughs.
This show is so very self aware and that is part of what really makes it work. Poppy and Ian’s journey in this season is fantastic, but so are all the side plots. Overall, this is a must watch season, better than the first, and has me begging for a season three!
