The new Disney+ movie Stargirl is full of inspiring quotes. It helps you learn that you should always be yourself. No matter what.
It should come as no surprise to any of you that Stargirl made me cry. I cry at everything. But what really did it for me in this movie was all the inspiring quotes. I watched it with my young daughters and watching them hang on to every word was — heartwarming. This movie shows why everyone should be themselves. A great lesson for kids to learn.
I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed Stargirl — and by how many quotes really stuck with me after watching it.

Until that night I always thought mudfrogs were an odd choice for a mascot. You see, mudfrogs spend most of their time sleeping. They sleep at the bottom of dry ponds in the desert, buried in mud. For months. They do this when there’s no food or water. Then one day the rain comes, and just like that, they are awake. – Leo
We were just waiting for it to rain. – Leo

Sometimes I imagine a giant pink eraser. I start at my toes until everything from my neck down is gone. Then comes the hard part. My senses. My nose, my ears, my eyes, my mouth. If I’ve done a good job, at the end, there’s just nothing. – Stargirl
Is she magic? – Leo
It’s cool that a song can be about whatever you want it to be about. It doesn’t matter what the words say. – Leo
Being with you is like the most anyone has ever looked at me in my entire life. – Leo
Why can’t you just be….more like everyone else? – Leo

You plant a seed in the ground and a whole world develops and stretches out and opens up. – Stargirl

Leo Borlock (Graham Verchere) is an average student at Mica High School. He gets decent grades, is a member of the school’s marching band and has always been content flying under the radar. But all that changes when he meets Stargirl Caraway (Grace VanderWaal), a confident and colorful new student with a penchant for the ukulele, who stands out in a crowd.
She is kind, finds magic in the mundane and touches the lives of others with the simplest of gestures. Her eccentricities and infectious personality charm Leo and the student body, and she quickly goes from being ignored and ridiculed to accepted and praised, then back again, sending Leo on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
