My family was invited by Paramount Pictures to attend the SONIC THE HEDGEHOG family day and blue carpet premiere. There were so many fun activities, and we had a blast!
If you have been following me for a while you know that I have attended a lot of world premieres for movies. But I have never been able to bring my family with me — until now! When I received the invite from Paramount Pictures for the Sonic the Hedgehog blue carpet premiere, of course I was thrilled. Then as I read on, I realized that it also included a family day, and I was going to be able to bring my daughters and husband with me!
Not only did they get to attend the Sonic the Hedgehog cast interviews (more on that later), they were able to come to the blue carpet premiere with me. We had the best time ever! I am so thankful that they were able to see a little bit of what I do when I am away from home for work.
Sonic Loves Tiny Tacos
My family has a love for snacks, just like me. So of course the first thing we noticed when we stepped on to the carpet was the tiny tacos that Jack in the Box was giving out. Unfortunately we don’t have any of their restaurants near where we live, so we took full advantage of the free tiny tacos while there! And they were DELICIOUS! I can see why Sonic likes them.
Although, my husband was really hoping for some chili cheese dogs (get it?). FUN FACT: My husband tried a chili cheese dog for the first time because Sonic loves them so much.

Gotta Go Fast — Sonic Racing
One of the coolest things on the blue carpet was the Sonic Speed Racing! Here kids can let their Sonic side take over and race to the end of the carpet. There was a timer, and they could even win cool prizes like a fanny pack and a backpack! Like a REALLY NICE backpack.
Of course my girls wanted to race against each other, and even though my youngest was dressed like Sonic, she came in last. But that is OK because on the carpet, everyone is a winner, and she still got a sweet backpack that she wore the whole day.
Carnival Style Games
The blue carpet for Sonic the Hedgehog was basically a giant carnival! There were lots of games the kiddos could play, and compete to win a prize! My friend Amanda’s kids won a T-shirt and an XBOX game! How cool is that?!
My youngest crushed it at the can-toss. She ended up knocking them all down! And won herself some Sonic the Hedgehog play foam!
My favorite thing at a premiere is usually the awesome photo opps that they have. And Sonic the Hedghog did not disappoint! There were a few, but my favorite one is where they put us on screen next to Sonic. They gave us a print out and my youngest daughter took it to school for show and tell.
They also had a selection of movie standees, which was really fun! I wonder which one my local theater will get…
As per usual there was some delicious food on the carpet — like grilled cheese and sliders. But there was also the coolest thing EVER. Blue cotton candy that was shaped like Sonic. Yea, it was awesome. However the line was INSANE and we didn’t have the time to wait in it. But I wish we did. Check out my friend Amiyrah’s Tik Tok to see the cotton candy being made and you will see why!
Seeing The Cast
Probably one of the coolest things for my family was seeing the cast of Sonic the Hedgehog in real life. AND watching the movie with them. This is not something they normally get to do. My husband and I are big fans of Westworld, so he thought it was really awesome to see James Marsden up close and personal. Of course, it was fun to watch Jim Carrey interview as well!
My daughter Lorie had asked Ben Schwartz (the voice of Sonic) a question the day before at the press junket. Then he TWEETED ABOUT HER! As we were leaving our seats in the theater, he spotted her. We all chatted for a few minutes and then he asked her to hop in a photo with him. DAY MADE.
