Sonic The Hedgehog Redesigned Look Is Here With A New Trailer

I have a confession to make — last week during The Geekly Retreat, we were given a sneak peek at the new Sonic The Hedgehog trailer, complete with redesign. So yes, I totally saw it before it was dropped today. The entire room seemed to gasp and start murmuring the second we saw Sonic’s redesign. Why? Because he looks AMAZING! 

My Reaction

Now this reaction is a little bit different than my other ones because I had actually seen this trailer before. However, I do feel like I caught some more things this second time around. Plus, the fact that I still laughed at the jokes the second time around, that says a lot. 

We see a lot more of the plot, and to be honest, it makes me excited for this film. It is definitely something I will take my whole family to see. Especially since we are all gamers. My 8 year old daughter reads the Sonic comics, so she is over the top excited for this one! I hope it holds up to her standards — I have a feeling she will be the pickiest of us all.

Sonic Redesigned

I was already interested in the movie after the first Sonic trailer because, well because I love me some Sonic! Were there issues with his look? Of course. But I wasn’t going to let that ruin a whole movie. Others however, were. But don’t worry because he looks one thousand times better now — and I am more HYPED for this movie than I ever thought I would be.

His face looks so much better — don’t you think? His eye placement and those….teeth… are gone. I am really excited to see where this goes, because I think they actually took criticisms into thought when doing the redesign. And I hope that the fans will appreciate that. 

Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik

I feel like Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik is quite possibly the best casting I have ever seen. He is a fantastic actor who can play both funny and maniacal, which is what I think best describes Dr. Robotnik. And from what I have seen in this new trailer, I am all about it. He is perfectly cast if you ask me.
