When I realized that Netflix’s Easy was going to end at Season 3, I was pretty devastated. My husband and I only recently discovered this series, and we binged all three seasons in two weeks. There are many things we loved about this show, and we really got attached to most of the characters. I kind of hate not knowing what is going to happen with several of them. All of their stories were not neatly wrapped up in a bow.
Jeff and Matt
Easily my favorite story line throughout the entire series is the one with Jeff and Matt. I was hooked from the beginning. This is a tale of two brothers, who start a brewing beer in a garage, after the death of their father. The cast of this story is AMAZING – Dave Franco, Aya Cash, Zazie Beetz, etc.
With each episode they are featured in, their story gets better and better. And while it was wrapped up nicely, I would have loved to see more. Perhaps a spin off? I could totally get behind that!
Andi and Kyle
This story is…. a little weird? It starts off with a married couple that is just trying to find some time to have a private moment. And then — well and then they decide to have an open marriage. I could have told you from the beginning this was going to be a disaster. And it kind of is. I don’t want to give any spoilers, but I will say this was probably my least favorite story line in Netflix’s Easy. Although I still enjoyed it.
This is an interesting story line, but I will say I totally called how it would end up. Jacob is a divorced professor, writer, and comic, and this story follows his love life. Sort of. He realizes that he might be a little bit self absorbed… and he has done some things in the past that he shouldn’t be proud of. And should take them more seriously.
Chase and Jo
Chase and Jo’s story is a great one as well. This is the story of a new lesbian couple, and I loved seeing their relationship start and evolve. Although I was not thrilled with the middle — and am left intrigued to how it ends up… I really loved seeing the progression. It felt – real – to me.
There are several other story lines in Netflix’s Easy, but these are the ones I chose to feature because they stuck in my head the most. All I can say is that I really, truly, recommend this series to…well…just about anyone!
This show was absolutely fantastic. While I enjoyed all of the story lines (some more than others of course), my husband did find one of them boring. If the open marrage couple (Kyle and Andi) would have an episode, he often would do something else instead of watching it with me.
One thing that I really did not like was the introduction of a few more characters toward the end of season three. Perhaps they were expecting a season four (specifically episodes 7 and 9) and had some plans in motion to connect them to the rest of the characters, but this annoyed me. I became interested in these characters and really wanted to learn more about them, but now I won’t. Which I suppose is not a bad problem to have. Being left wanting more.
Looking for more television series to binge? I got you covered!
