Spider-Man Far From Home End Credit Scenes

In case you missed it, I am a massive comic book fan – especially Marvel comics. So you know I went to see Spider-Man: Far From Home the day it came out. The movie was fantastic – but when those mid and end credit scenes came on, my jaw literally dropped and my head started spinning. These could mean BIG things for the Marvel Cinematic Universe – and I am HERE for it!

Read on for all my theories and feel free to comment so we can discuss. However, if you have not yet seen the movie and do not want spoilers, bookmark this for a later time, because we are about to get in to it!

WARNING: There are major spoilers ahead for Spider-Man: Far From Home End Credit Scenes.

    J-Jonah-Jameson

    J. Jonah Jameson

I love me some J. Jonah Jameson, and the Daily Bugle. Don’t get me wrong, I hate that he is anti-Spider-Man (although in the comics they recently joined forces and it was pretty awesome), but I enjoy seeing him on the big screen.

So during the mid-credit scene, when he popped up on a massive television to show a leaked video (that we all know Mysterio had sent over) I was kind of excited. And the fact that it was JK Simmons playing him was the icing on the cake. Because that man IS JJJ if you ask me.

    Peter’s Identity Revealed

So of course J. Jonah is the one to play a video where Mysterio says that Spider-Man was attacking him, and the civilians. We all know this not to be true, but it is Mysterio – and as he said, people will see what he wants them to see.

And then the jaw dropping moment happened. Mysterio revealed Spider-Man’s secret identity – Peter Parker – for the whole world to see. He outs him. Then JJJ even puts up Peter’s yearbook photo. What does this mean for the future of the MCU? I am guessing Peter is going to try everything he can to make sure people don’t believe it – or that they forget it.

Which brings me to my next point…

    Fantastic Four #1

    Fantastic Four in the MCU?

Is this the perfect lead in for the Fantastic Four? Hmm… It totally could be. Back in the Civil War run in Marvel Comics, Peter revealed his identity. He did this to support Iron Man, quickly regretting it. Once the dust settled, he wanted to regain his secret identity, and who better to ask than Doctor Stephen Strange.

Strange needed some help, and who did call upon? Tony Stark (RIP) and Reed Richards. Could this be the seamless entry in to the MCU for the Fantastic Four? Fingers crossed!

    Skrulls (Again)

Then the Spider-Man: Far From Home end credit scene happened and I was OVER THE MOON. If you have ever come to one of my live chats, I often end up going on and on about the Skrulls and how much I love them. It is the same reason that I enjoyed Mysterio as a villain – you never know what is real and what isn’t.

Nick Fury and Maria Hill felt off the whole movie. I had no idea why, but I was thinking man, they just don’t seem right. Well, that is because they were revealed as Skrulls in the end credit scene (cue another jaw drop and also applause to Samuel L. Jackson and Cobie Smulders for truly killing their roles).

    Secret Invasion?

Turns out Talos (Ben Medelsohn is AMAZING) was working with Nick Fury though, and had been sent on a mission to deliver the glasses to Peter Parker. Things got a little out of hand, clearly, and so he reported in to Nick. Who we discover is on a ship, in space, with a TON of Skrulls.

Now what does this mean for the MCU? Could it be we are going to get the story line I would literally sell my soul to see on the big screen? Secret Invasion and Dark Reign? Maybe. Of course this means that the Skrulls, or at least some of them, would have to go bad and try to infiltrate the Earth’s superheroes. I am not saying it can’t happen – but it has to be done right.

As we saw throughout the entire movie, Skrulls can be placed in the world without the people around them noticing. Of course there was a lot going on, so who is to say, but I can hope I get my dream Marvel movie(s)….I can hope.

Do you have any theories after seeing the Spider-Man: Far From Home end credit scenes?
