My family has been to Toy Story Land a few times since it opened – and each time we love it even more. There are so many things to do, and if you are a Pixar fan (especially a Toy Story fan), it really is a must see. Toy Story is a classic franchise. I mean, I grew up with Woody and Buzz – and now my daughters’ are too. Disney recently invited me to come check it out again for the Toy Story 4 release (thanks Disney!).
We are Disney Vacation Club members and Annual Passholders, so we are at Walt Disney World several times a year – and we always run right to Toy Story Land at Hollywood Studios for several reasons! With Toy Story 4 coming out this month, there are even MORE reasons to visit now!
Super Fun Rides
Toy Story Mania has been a ride at Hollywood Studios for a while, but now it is part of Toy Story Land. This ride has always been one of my favorites, although I am not very good at it. We have a competition within our family whenever we go, and I only beat my youngest (who is currently six). Actually, scratch that, there are a few times she has beaten me. My husband on the other hand, often makes the daily leader board…
Alien Swirling Saucers is a new ride that was added with the expansion of the park. It is kind of like the scrambler, and I cannot help but laugh the whole time I am on it. While it is fun, I wouldn’t wait more than thirty minutes for it.
From the first time I rode it, Slinky Dog Dash became one of my favorite rides in all of Walt Disney World. When we had Toy Story Land all to ourselves, we rode it over – and over – and over. I am not exaggerating when I say we rode it 8 times in a row!
Amazing Meet and Greets
There are so many Toy Story characters that you can meet at the Disney Parks in Toy Story Land. Army Soldiers will be wandering around – and playing with kids. Woody, Jesse, and Buzz are hanging out ready to take a photo with you.
And now BRAND NEW for Toy Story 4 – you can meet Bo Peep! She was always one of my favorites and so I was thrilled to see her back for the fourth film. And even more excited to meet her and a get a photo with her. My girls were just a tad excited too…
Another new character for meet and greet is Forky! YES! Woody is carrying around Forky – and he is AMAZING! My youngest daughter has been obsessed with Forky ever since the first teaser trailer. She even dressed as him for the special Toy Story 4 screening and party. So to meet him, yea, she was thrilled!
Now all we need is for Ducky and Bunny to be walking around and taking photos and I will be over the moon! They are HILARIOUS and I promise you will love them. Also…Duke Caboom…maybe Gabby Gabby too… OK, I need all of the new Toy Story 4 characters (no Benson though…).
There are also some amazing Instagram walls in Toy Story Land – so visiting them is a MUST!
Delicious Food
Woody’s Lunch Box has some of the best treats in the entire park. Which means a lot coming from me, since I love my sweets. This trip was actually the first time I tried the lunch box tarts – and now I am obsessed. From now on I will be picking up both the Cinnamon Cran-Apple Tart and that Chocolate-Hazelnut Tart (the later is my favorite!).
They also have some delicious sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and and dinner! The Grilled Three-Cheese Sandwich is my daughters’ favorite, while the BBQ Brisket Melt is mine (yum!). I do wish there was an inside sitting area – especially during the hot summer months – but they do have umbrellas up over the tables to create a shaded eating area.
If you love Pixar and Toy Story – this is a MUST VISIT! I love all the new things that have come to celebrate Toy Story 4 – and hopefully there will be more too (hint, hint Disney – Ducky and Bunny meet and greet!).
About Toy Story 4
Woody (voice of Tom Hanks) has always been confident about his place in the world, and that his priority is taking care of his kid, whether that’s Andy or Bonnie. So when Bonnie’s beloved new craft-project-turned-toy, Forky (voice of Tony Hale), declares himself as “trash” and not a toy, Woody takes it upon himself to show Forky why he should embrace being a toy.
But when Bonnie takes the whole gang on her family’s road trip excursion, Woody ends up on an unexpected detour that includes a reunion with his long-lost friend Bo Peep (voice of Annie Potts). After years of being on her own, Bo’s adventurous spirit and life on the road belie her delicate porcelain exterior.
As Woody and Bo realize they’re worlds apart when it comes to life as a toy, they soon come to find that’s the least of their worries.
Toy Story 4 comes to theaters June 21st!
