Avengers Endgame Special Look BREAKDOWN: So Much To Unpack!

A Full BREAKDOWN of The Avengers_ Endgame Special Look

In case you missed it, I wrote a full Avengers: Endgame trailer 2 breakdown, and this morning we got a new special look at the movie. So of course, I needed to do a breakdown of this footage as well. If you don’t know that I am a bit of a Marvel fan, well, you don’t know me very well then. I have been reading comics since I was about 8 years old, and all things Marvel hold a special place in my heart. I attended the Avengers: Infinity War World Premiere and broke down sobbing in the theater (filled with the cast and crew of the movie). My friends had to fix my makeup before the after party – no lie. So I cannot wait for Endgame – THIS MONTH!

As I watched the Avengers: Endgame special look for the first time, I tried to pick up on as much as I could. But my mind (and heart) were racing and that was hard to do. So I watched it a few more times, stopping frame by frame, to see what clues I could pick up. Now I know to never trust the Russo Brothers, so who really knows if what we are seeing is even in the movie. They showed us a lot in the Endgame character posters already – maybe? But this told us a lot more.

Tony Makes It Back To Earth

While this was hinted at in the previous trailer, it seems like that is pretty much a given at this point. Not only do we see him with the Avengers team a few times, we see Pepper hugging him. I can only assume this is taking place either when he first returns, or when he is about to leave to take on Thanos (or go back in time or both). It sure seems like a passionate hug, so that is my take on it.

They Are Going In Half Cocked

Bruce Banner says it himself “If we do this, we’d be going in short handed.“. I am guessing this is from the beginning of Avengers: Endgame, as the team decides to take on Thanos. The Avengers lost half of their numbers, but that doesn’t seem to stop them. Hopefully they are more prepared this time because I cannot handle losing more of them. I just can’t.

Ronin’s Ink

Can we just take a minute to swoon over Ronin (formerly known as Hawkeye) and he amazing ink. I mean, clearly we are twins with the full sleeves and being badass and all. SWOON. And I kind of like the hair. There, I said it. OK, moving on.

Rocket and Nebula Mourn Together

This scene kind of broke my heart a little. Rocket and Nebula are reunited, yay. But man, you can see the pain on their faces. They are mourning the loss of their friends – their family – together. They lost EVERYONE. Gamora, Quill, Drax, Mantis, Groot… as a major Guardians of the Galaxy fan, this scene is heartwrenching.

Captain America and Iron Man Back Together

This handshake means so much guys. Captain America and Iron Man have been on opposite sides for a while now, and to see them working together again, well, that makes a lot. I love that Cap says he trusts Tony. LOVE IT.

They Are Confident

They sure seem confident in this shot, which we see as Tony says “We’re the Avengers, we gotta finish this.” Yeah you do. You got this guys. I love this show. Captain Marvel is missing from it though. But not in my favorite still from the special look….

Captain Marvel Piloting the Benatar with Rocket

This still is EVERYTHING and I cannot wait to see it on the big screen.

Doctor Strange Is Back?

That is totally Doctor Strange’s cape. Right? Right!! What is going on! That is totally Tony and Cap standing with him. Oh my goodness…is the plan actually working?! Or is is just Thor? Could be Thor. Probably is Thor. Yea, it’s Thor. But is that as interesting?

All The Tears

Just dropping this here to remind us all of what our heroes have lost. And all of the guilt that Tony feels over Peter Parker’s death.
