Bruce's Big Move

One of my favorite things to do with my girls is cuddle up and read a good book. It is something that we look forward to doing almost every day as a family. Recently, we received an advance copy of Bruce’s Big Move from Disney-Hyperion, and I must say, we loved it right away. The story itself is cute and funny – and we can’t help but love the grumpy bear Bruce. It even teaches a great lesson to kids – there’s no place like home.

But home may not mean the walls you live inside. We moved a couple of years ago so this is a great story to read to the girls when they are missing our old house. It helps them understand exactly what home is. Now, you know me, I hate to give spoilers (yes, even with kids books), so that is all I will say about that.

About The Book

After the events of Hotel Bruce, our favorite curmudgeonly bear shares his home with not only his four geese, but three rowdy mice besides! Fed up with their shenanigans, Bruce sets off to find a rodent-free household. But as usual, nothing goes quite according to plan. A hilarious sequel for fans of the previous Bruce books, as well as a standalone discovery for new readers, Bruce’s next reluctant adventure is sure to keep kids giggling.

About The Author

Ryan T. Higgins is an author and illustrator who likes the outdoors and cheese sandwiches. He is NOT a grumpy old black bear, but he DOES like making books about one. It started with the best-selling Mother Bruce, which received the E. B. White Read-Aloud Award and the Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Honor. He lives in Maine with his wife and kids – and too many pets.

  7. My favorite children's book is The Giving Tree! It is such a sweet story. Of course, I love books so I definitely have more than one favorite.
  8. I really love all different kinds of books. The Bible is the only constant book that has been in my family’s households and read for years and years to come.
  9. I can’t remember a lot of books names that I read when I was young. And I don’t know what my grandkids are reading, but I know they do love to read and watch funny you tube videos.
  10. A favorite book is Beauty and the Beast. Its a classic and it is nice to read the book and then watch the movie made.
  11. Sherrie Cruson on
My favorite book as a child was Where The Wild Things Are. I liked the book a lot but what really drew me into the story were the illustrations on each page.
  12. One of our favorites is Alice in Wonderland. Its rather a long book but playing the different characters while reading it is great fun.
  13. 'Twas the Night Before Christmas has always been my favorite children's book. At the age of 4, mom read it to me for the first time prior to Christmas. She told me that before Christmas I knew the entire book by heart! I never lost that love for it. We read it year round now! Thankfully, I've had a dozen nieces and nephews to share it with over the years!
  14. I Little House on the Prairie Is another book we really like. Its fun that there is so much connected to Laura Ingalls . We like classics and have watched the old TV shows.
  15. One ofour favorite books is Goldilocks and the Three Bears. That one os just fun because it is easily memorized and doing different voices for the characters is fun.
  16. Green eggs and Ham was a favorite, but not very appetizing. My grandkids have asked me why they can’t have green eggs! They want to try them and asked me if I’ve tried them!
  17. Another favorite book is The Princess and the Pea. They are fascinated the princess thinks she feels a pea through all those mattresses.
  18. The Three Little Pigs is another book we would read together. I love when the kids would huff and puff like in the book. A couple of times, I had to stop them before they hyperventilated!
