3 Reasons to Pick Up LEGO Dimensions Today

3 Reasons to Pick Up LEGO Dimensions Today

In case you haven’t picked up on it yet, the Smiths are huge gamers. Even my daughters love video games. One that we have been spending a lot of time playing lately is LEGO Dimensions. I know I am probably late to the party here, but we have been having so much fun with this game! We have pretty busy schedules during the school year and have finally been able to fit in some family game playing time as the year dies down. It is not an exaggeration when I say this game gets played every day.

Play Your Favorite Characters

There are so many different kits you can purchase to play in LEGO Dimensions. These include many of my favorite movies and television series such as Ghostbusters, Adventure Time, Back to the Future, and Lord of the Rings. One of the best parts? You get to build the characters and vehicles before you play them. The instructions are integrated in to the game and put on the screen, making it a different LEGO experience than you might be used to.

There are four different types of add on packs you can buy – Fun Packs, Team Packs, Level Packs, and Story Packs. The Fun Pack contains two figures, the Team Pack contains four figures, the Level Pack contains three figures and unlocks and entire new level, and the Story Pack contains two figures, a large build, and unlocks six levels of gameplay. You will need the Starter Pack to play, which comes with three characters and one vehicle – Gandalf, Batman, Wyldstyle, and the Batmobile – as well as the game, toypad, and gateway. We have already started collecting a lot of these – and they are all fantastic! We will end up with all of them, I can guarantee it!

Be A Completionist

I am a total completionist when it comes to video games. I need to collect everything, earn every badge, and open every level. That is one thing I love about LEGO Dimensions. In each level there are a certain number of bricks to collect – and you can also earn Rule Breaker on each level if you collect enough coins. Every LEGO game is truly a fun one if you are a completionist like me! I will play levels over and over so that I can collect everything and earn Rule Breaker.

Problem Solving

One of my favorite things about this game is the problem solving. In order to collect all of the hidden bricks and secrets, you need to use your brain. Certain characters can use abilities that others cannot. For example, Harry Potter can use spells to unlock secret areas and bricks, but Batman would not be able to do this.

Don’t worry, in order to complete the story mode with no add-on levels, you only need the three characters that come with the Starter Pack – but what is the fun in that? You will be unable to explore all the Adventure Worlds and will be unable to collect everything in the game with just these three.

I personally love that there are so many add-ons, especially the Story Packs! While LEGO Dimensions may be a bit of an investment, it looks like we will get expansions for quite sometime, making it beyond worth it! Pick up your copy today and you will not be disappointed!
