Blue Apron

I am going to be honest here guys, some days are better than others when it comes to dinners in my house. For me, the main issue is not time, it is coming up with a meal plan and then actually using the ingredients I purchased. Half the time I forget something that I need for a recipe and have to improvise – then we end up ordering out. I love to cook and bake – and I enjoy getting my daughters involved as well. They are young (3 and 5) but they can do a lot in the kitchen already and really enjoy it. I had been toying with the idea of checking out Blue Apron (several of my friends have and love it!) because then the dinner planning part would already be done for me and I could move right to the fun stuff!

Blue Apron offers a better way to cook, with fresh ingredients and great recipes delivered weekly to your home. They feature farm-fresh ingredients from sustainable family-run businesses, and set the highest standards for their ingredients. You can even accompany each meal with the perfect wine pairing, shipped right to your door! The meals that I received this week came out delicious. Even my husband was surprised (OK, I am not the best cook….) and I loved how simple the instructions were. They were detailed enough to understand, but not too detailed to confuse me. The recipes that came were:

Seared Steak & Spiced Potato
with Sautéed Sugar Snap Peas & Tarragon-Labneh Sauce

Spicy Hoisin Turkey Meatballs
with Sautéed Zucchini & Brown Rice

Black Garlic-Shoyu Ramen
with Green Beans & Shiitake Mushrooms

My young daughters enjoyed all of these meals (which shocked me honestly). We received the 3 meals for 2 people but it was actually just enough for all 4 us since my girls don’t eat very much at dinner time. Blue Apron is definitely something I would like to continue getting – it has made dinner time so much easier! No thinking and planning, just cook and enjoy!
