Thank You Nurses Awards

I have had two daughters and I cannot begin to fully express how important my nurses were for the births. I also have several family members that are nurses and am super proud of them. It is such an important job – not only for assisting with the birth of children, but for many other things as well. My cousin, however, is a pediatric nurse, and I love that she helps many women every single day enter the world of motherhood. Pampers is a diaper brand that I trust, and I am excited to tell you about an opportunity they are giving parents to give back to the nurses that had an impact on them.

Thank You Nurses Awards

Pampers invites parents to share their stories of nurses who helped make life #betterforbaby by submitting a nurse nomination to the Pampers Swaddlers Thank You Nurses Awards at www.tongal.com/pampersnurses. Nurse nominations can be submitted between November 9th and December 14th, 2015. So parents, I encourage you to think hard about the support of the nurses that you had and submit a nomination. They deserve it. There will be three finalists – one in each category (Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and Postpartum).

The finalists will be announced in March and the grand prize honoree will be announced in May. The three finalists will be honored with short documentary videos showcasing their unique and inspirational nursing stories. I for one, am very excited to hear about all of the nominations and to help celebrate the winner. Each of the three finalists will receive a one-year membership to the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN), attendance at the 2016 AWHONN Convention, Procter & Gamble care packages, and more!

In honor of these nurse winners, three Pampers Swaddlers scholarships will be made available to help nurses from underrepresented groups complete their studies toward a Master of Science in Nursing degree. There are so many nurses that are deserving of this honor, please, tell Pampers about them! Visit tongal.com/pampersnurses for full prizing details. See details and official rules at spr.ly/6181BPvMF. Winner must be a resident of the US or Puerto Rico, 18 years or older. Nomination period ends 12/14/15 at 3PM EST.

lorie birth

I vividly remember being in labor with my second daughter and thinking “there is no way I can do this – there is no way I can do this”. I was totally unmedicated and my midwife/nurse held me, rubbed my back, and told me that I was doing it. Just a few more pushes and my daughter was out. If I was not given that reassurance and strength, I don’t think I would have had the confidence to birth my daughter that quickly. Who can really say for sure, but she made me feel safe and strong – and isn’t that what matters.
