There are more illnesses than ever threatening the wellbeing of our children – and ourselves – these days. Cases of children getting diagnosed with diabetes are being found across the country. Worryingly, the number of diabetic children is on the rise. The combination of a bad diet, too much sugar intake and lack of exercise are pinpointed as the main causes of this rise. Children’s love for sugary food and video games may be at fault.
It is hard to believe that 2016 is already coming to an end. It has been a great year overall. I got to experience many things that I have only dreamed of doing. I walked the red carpet for the Captain America: Civil War premiere, I was able to interview Chris Evans, I took my girls on a Disney Cruise, I visited Skywalker Ranch, and I even got to go on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2! It has been a whirlwind of a year, but I just know 2017 will be better! I have thought long and hard about my top 5 goals for the year and I thought writing them down would make them more real – make me actually commit to them.
Every day millions of people hit the road on their way to their destination. Unfortunately, in that same day, car accidents abound all over the country. While some are small fender benders, others end up being fatal. Teen drivers are especially at risk of getting in an auto accident due to their lack of driving experience. As a parent, it is our job to ensure they are well prepared when driving on the road. This is not only for their safety, but the safety of their passengers and other drivers on the road.
I was a new mom once and there are many things I wish I had when my little ones were born. I now know several new moms and have been shopping for holiday gifts for them. I have been thinking back to those things that I really wish I had and here are some gifts that I think any new mom would be thrilled to receive!

Let’s face it, moms are busy. Especially when back to school time hits. My 5 year old will be starting Kindergarten in just a couple of weeks and I know that my nights and mornings are going to be filled with making sure homework is done, packing up her backpack, finding the perfect show and tell items, and packing lunches. On top of all of this, I still need to find time to spend with my 3 year old, my husband, the dog, and still get work done around the house (not to mention keeping up with my website)! Thank God for Nature’s Harvest® Bread and Entenmann’s® Little Bites™ Snacks because I know that no matter what, her lunch will be fun, healthy, and easy to make with them.
As most of you know, I have two young children – ages 3 and 5. This year, my oldest will be off to school full time, while my youngest will be starting half days at a local center to get her ready for Preschool. I have been stressing already about this decision. It is going to be strange without any kids in the house for a few hours in the morning – and one that will not be home until after 3pm! On top of my emotional breakdown, I am also dealing with the stress of things that I have to get done to ready for back to school time. The list of things to do to prepare can be totally overwhelming – but I still want to find time for fun with my family.
It is time for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, and my family enjoys tuning in every time they are on. I think it is important for my husband and I to show our young daughters that they can be athletes like that if they train hard. My oldest daughter dabbles in a lot of sports, but her favorite is soccer. She loves to play with her friends, cousins, schoolmates – you name it. She has gotten great at kicking the ball down the field and in to a net. We just know she will be our little soccer star!
