Brand New Music Video for Shakira’s “Try Everything” from #Zootopia | #Disney

If you follow me on social media, than you probably saw the brand new Shakira music video for “Try Everything” that I posted yesterday. I am a little bit obsessed with it and already watched it several times. It is from Disney’s upcoming movie Zootopia, which hits theaters nationwide on March 4, 2016. That very same day, Walt Disney Records will release the soundtrack to Zootopia – so be sure to grab it. The “Try Everything” single is available now at digital retail (click here to get it). In Zootopia, Shakira will be playing beloved superstar, Gazelle. “Try Everything” is an all new and original song written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate – just for Zootopia! Shakira is a Grammy winner – and I cannot wait to see her in Zootopia. The film looks hilarious, fantastic – and it is from Disney so you know it is going to be amazing. I cannot wait to take my girls opening weekend! Watch the music video below – and let me know what you think!

Take the Family to a Symphoria Performance this Season | #Giveaway #CNY #Syracuse

I love going with my family to special events. We enjoy going to concerts, shows, and other cultural and local arts performances. Now that the girls are getting a little bit older, we can do a lot more with them. My husband and I have always looked forward to these types of outings and now they are starting to as well. So when I hears about Symphoria (a fully professional orchestra serving Syracuse and Central New York), I was pretty excited! I didn’t know there was something so amazing so close.

Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration at #D23Expo

While at the D23 Expo, we had the chance to attend Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration. I had really been looking forward to this the entire trip because I love the Silly Symphony cartoons. I grew up watching them because my mom loved them so much. They are a fond memory for me and I always thought they were so much fun. This event was hosted by film historian Leonard Maltin and it was incredible to attend. Silly Symphony shorts were played on large screens as a 32 piece orchestra accompanied them with their original soundtracks. The precision was amazing. The orchestra had to be on point in order to accompany the cartoons so well – and they were. I especially loved watching the man who was making the fun sounds like ducks quacking. It was very entertaining to see up close and personal. The music was performed as it would have been recorded during those historic days at the Disney Studios on Hyperion Avenue in the 1920s and ’30s. Just knowing that gave me chills while watching it. Many of the 75 Silly Symphony shorts were performed, but my favorites included Three Little Pigs, The Old Mill, The Ugly Duckling, and of course, The Skeleton Dance. I also really enjoyed learning a bit more about Walt and seeing him talk about the different shorts we were about to watch.

Songs of Aloha Soundtrack Giveaway

Disclosure: Mama Smith’s Review Blog received this item in exchange for her honest review. All opinions expressed are 100% hers.

Songs of Aloha

I am really looking forward to seeing Aloha. It stars some of my favorite actors (Bradley Cooper, Emma Stone, and Rachel McAdams) and looks like it will be a really cute love movie. My husband is not too thrilled about it and so it will be a movie we will see once it is released on DVD. But just because I have not been able to see it yet doesn’t mean that I cannot enjoy the soundtrack – Songs of Aloha. In fact, listening to this awesome CD has made me even more excited for the movie. The songs really take me away to an island if I close my eyes. I have listened to it several times already and think it is a great set.

Songs of Aloha (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) was curated and compiled by Academy Award®-winner Cameron Crowe (Say Anything…, Jerry Maguire, Almost Famous), the film’s writer/director. The 19-track collection gathers Crowe’s always wide-ranging musical selections, spanning such renowned artists as Beck, David Crosby, Fleetwood Mac, and The Blue Nile, contemporary singer/songwriters like Kurt Vile, Josh Ritter, and The Tallest Man on Earth, eclectic new acts including Radical Face and Evening Hymns, and acclaimed ambient/electronic musicians Vancouver Sleep Clinic and Jónsi & Alex, who contributed two brand-new compositions to the soundtrack (see tracklisting below). In addition, Songs of Aloha (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) captures much of the film’s evocative island atmosphere via contributions from traditional Hawaiian music legends Genoa Keawe and The Royal Hawaiian Serenaders as well as such masters of the slack-key guitar as Cyril Pahinui, Bobby Ingano, and Ledward Kaapana. Songs of Aloha (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) was Executive Produced by Cameron Crowe.

Movie Synopsis: In Aloha, a celebrated military contractor (Bradley Cooper) returns to the site of his greatest career triumph – the US Space program in Honolulu, Hawaii – and reconnects with a long-ago love (Rachel McAdams) while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog (Emma Stone) assigned to him. Aloha also stars Bill Murray, John Krasinski, Danny McBride, and Alec Baldwin.

MARIAH CAREY – #1 To Infinity

I just finished listening to this album and I was blown away. Of course, it has all my favorite Mariah songs and I could not be any happier. I would love to see her live in Las Vegas – or anywhere for that matter- fingers crossed! Mariah Carey #1 To Infinity gathers – for the first time ever – one career-spanning chronological collection of all 18 of her Billboard Hot 100 #1 singles (17 self-penned), more than any solo artist in history. Included as the final track on the collection is Mariah’s breathtaking new single, “Infinity” (co-written and produced by Mariah). Below is the track list for this album.

Disney Hop to the Music Giveaway

Disclosure: Mama Smith’s Review Blog received this item in exchange for her honest review. All opinions expressed are 100% hers.

Hop to the Music

I love Disney. As a matter of fact, we just booked a family trip for October and I am already counting down the days. My husband and I honeymooned there and my girls have already been once (they will be 4 and almost 3 for this next visit). We are huge Disney fans so of course, we love the soundtracks to the Disney shows and movies too. I am so excited to bring you guys this amazing giveaway for some awesome Disney CDs thanks to the Disney Music Group!

With Easter just around the corner, we have put together a great basket for you to create the Hop to the Music giveaway. The winner will receive Frozen The Songs, Dj Shuffle 2, Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Remix 1, and Into the Woods deluxe soundtrack. I love each and every one of these CDs in their entirety. If I had to choose a favorite though, it would be Guardians of the Galaxy – no Frozen The Songs – OK, it is a toss up between those two. I have seen the Guardians movie several times and own the 3D bluray. It is one of the best superhero movies – if not THE best – out there. It was done so well – as an avid reader of the comics, I was VERY impressed with how well the actors and actresses captured the characters.
