As I am sure you know, the Smiths are a Disney family. We are Disney Vacation Club members and spend a lot of our time at Walt Disney World. One of our favorite events to attend is Disney on Ice. I remember going when I was a little girl, and now I hope my daughters will have fond memories from when we go when they are older. The latest show, Disney on Ice presents Dream Big, is coming to The Oncenter War Memorial Arena in Syracuse, NY January 2018. My family and I will, of course, be attending – but you can too!
We have been to Disney on Ice many times. We are a Disney family and love all things about it. Disney shows transport us to a magical place where we can forget the stress of real life the second it starts. Our experience was not different last night – however, there was one part that will always stay in my mind, and I will remember it forever.
As you probably know if you come to my blog regularly, we are a Disney family. Whenever there is a Disney event in town, we are there. From Disney on Ice, to Disney Live, to events at our local Disney Store – you can always count on the Smith’s to be there ready to have some fun. Disney Live: Mickey and Minnie’s Magical Doorway was just in town, and we were lucky enough to go. I knew that the whole family would have a good time, because you can’t go wrong with Disney but I had no idea just how much fun.
Join Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse as they travel to the timeless worlds of Disney’s “The Lion King,” “The Little Mermaid,” “Peter Pan” and the No. 1 animated feature film of all time, “Frozen,” in Disney On Ice presents Passport to Adventure! My 5 year old daughter is really into music. She tells us that music class is her favorite class in Kindergarten. Because of this, we know that taking her to Symphoria CNY’s Halloween Spooktacular would be the highlight of her Halloween – and we were right! Our 3 year old really enjoyed it as well, and of course so did my husband and myself.
Symphoria, the world-class symphony orchestra in Central New York, announced that single tickets are on sale for its 2016-17 season. Yesterday my family and I decided to check out the Paw Patrol Roll Patrol Road Tour at the Great New York State Fair. When we got there, the line looked really long – like, REALLY long – but we got in line anyways since this was the thing my girls wanted to check out at the fair. We went last weekend because we knew most of the day would be spent on Paw Patrol this time. We ended up waiting about 3.5 hours in line to enter Adventure Bay. Was this all worth it? Find out here.
We love going to the Great New York State Fair every year. It is something that our family looks forward to all year long. We usually go at least one or two days – and have so much fun! This year, the fairgrounds had been improved and WOW – the place looks great! I just love the main gates now – gorgeous! If you follow me on Snapchat or Instagram, I am sure you saw my stories as I was there this past weekend. Planning a trip to the fair for the first time can be overwhelming. Even if you have been, you can easily miss some great stuff because there is so much to see and do. No matter what you check out, you are sure to have a blast, but here are my 3 things that I don’t think anyone should skip. They are fun for the whole family and things that we come back to year after year.
Since we moved to upstate New York 3 years ago, it has been tradition to go to the Great New York State Fair. We have been three years in a row and this year will mark our fourth. My family knows that it will be a good time, and my young daughters look forward to it. Check out my kid friendly favorites and my guide to the NYSF food if you are heading there this year. This year, the Great New York State Fair is joining forces with Paw Patrol! When I saw this, I just knew my daughters would flip out – they love that show!
Recently I took my whole family to Hersheypark for a weekend. We live in Upstate New York so it is not that long a drive (about 5 hours) and we were all really excited to go! My husband grew up in New York and so he had been there with his family when he was younger but not recently. Myself and our young daughters had never been – but had heard great things. We spent our entire Saturday in the park and had more fun than we ever imagined.

The event is open to hot rods, muscle cars, classics and customs manufactured in 1980 and before. Advance-sale discount tickets for spectators are now available online at www.syracusenationals.com.
Darien Lake’s wide variety of entertainment has made it “destination fun” since 1964. Located 45 minutes from Niagara Falls between Buffalo and Rochester, N.Y., today the park boasts more than 50 rides, including six world-class roller coasters; dozens of family-friendly rides; the region’s largest water park complete with wave pool; a 20,000-seat performing arts center, operated by Live Nation; and world-class in-park entertainment.
You may not know this about me, but I am a huge country music fan. In college and immediately after graduating I worked at a couple of different radio stations on the promotions team. It was always a good time and I loved being able to see the other side of artists that you don’t see on stage. One of my favorite people to meet was Brad Paisley. He was a total sweetheart and down to Earth. Just a normal guy. He has always been one of my favorite artists because I think he is incredibly talented. When I met my husband he really didn’t know much about Brad, but I played his music for him and then took him to a concert. Now, he isn’t a huge country fan, but he still says Brad Paisley is one of the best concerts he has ever been to. If you don’t know who he is (you must live under a rock) look him up and go check him out. He is currently touring (Crushin’ It World Tour) and he has lots of dates coming up in 2016. Read on about why Brad puts on the best concert you will ever see – and then check out his upcoming tour dates here – you will thank me!
Unsure what to do with your time now that the holiday season has passed? Symphoria, the professional symphony orchestra in Central New York, is embarking on the second half of its season with 15 more exciting concerts complete with music from Broadway stars, classic Disney films and the the epic Star Wars movies. If you know me and my love for all things Disney and Star Wars, you should know that I will be in attendance at both of those shows – and I cannot wait! My husband and I, along with some friends, attended the Cirque de la Symphonie show a couple of months ago and it was incredible. Whenever we get together with them, we still talk about it! (You can read more about that performance here.) I am also planning on attending the Wicked Divas show, and will be sure to let you guys know all about it!
