Orange Glad Review

A Sweet Subscription Box

I love my sweets. I am my grandmother’s granddaughter that is for sure. For her, dinner is not over until she has her chocolate. That is me. I always need something sweet at the end of a meal. Even a little something. Well, a little something is best when it comes to my weight anyways. I was so excited to learn that there was a monthly subscription box that will send you surprise sweets. Two of my favorite things – surprises and sweets!
When my Orange Glad Sweet Box showed up, I had to do just about everything I could not to eat the whole thing right away. I MAY have eaten 3 out of the 5 treats that came with it but shh… don’t tell anyone. In my box I received Burnt Sugar and Fennel Shortcake from Lark Fine Foods, Cinnamon & Brown Sugar Medgpies from Megpies, Luscious Red Velvet Marshmallow from Viveltre, Harvest Carrot Cake from Fine Sconehenge Baking Co, and Pumpkin Pie Fudge from Mill Fudge Factory.
The first thing I grabbed was the red velvet marshmallow. One of my favorite cupcake flavors is red velvet so I thought this was going to be a big hit with me. I liked it, but I did not love it. I shared it with my husband and he was iffy on it too. It was good, maybe I just had such high expectations for it that it did not wow me.
Next, I dived in to the cinnamon and brown sugar Megpies tart. I am a huge fan of cinnamon (I am part Greek and we cook with it all the time). My favorite pop tarts are the brown sugar ones so I figured that was something that I would love – and I did! It was delicious! I hated having to share it with my girls – hey, I am a greedy mom, what can I say!
I debated saving the carrot cake for last because that is my ultimate favorite dessert, but I could not hold off. My dad used to bake me carrot cake from scratch for my birthday, so I am pretty selective when it comes down to it. But this was so good! And the piece was HUGE! I was nearly full after half and had to save some of it for the next day.
The burnt sugar and fennel shortbread was pretty good too! I have not had it in such a long time, I could not remember if I liked it or not, but I did! As for the pumpkin fudge, I have to admit, I did not eat it. I do not like pumpkin. But my in-laws who love pumpkin really enjoyed it and said it was the best pumpkin fudge they have had in a long time!
Your Sweet Box will come with a list of everything included and let you know when you need to enjoy it by. which I found very helpful in convincing my husband that I needed to eat this stuff right up. Orange Glad has several subscription box plans starting at $19.95 a month, so I am sure you will find something for your loved ones this holiday season – or something for you!
