I have always dreamed of being able to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum because I am a Disney fanatic. So imagine how excited I was to find out that as part of the #RogueOneEvent trip I was taking to San Francisco in December, we would be going! I grew up watching Disney movies and going to Disney World for family vacations – and now I take my family to Disney World at least once a year. So this was going to be a really special experience for me – and it was. I laughed, I smiled, and I cried (I mean sobbed – just as Joyce from Women and Their Pretties – she was sobbing with me) while I was there.
When I was in San Francisco for the Rogue One Event, I got to experience many amazing things. Everything was incredible, but one of my favorite things was watching two never-before-seen episodes of Star Wars Rebels. We found out that they loosely tied in to Rogue One and that Forest Whitaker himself was joining the cast voicing Saw Gerrera (who he plays in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story). We were some of the first people to see these episodes – and they blew me away! I am a fan of the show, so this was a big deal to me. (Insider tip – be ready for Click-Clack guys, you are going to love him!). After watching these, we got to chat with Executive Producer, Dave Filoni. This interview is probably one of my favorites to date – he was so personable and super fun to talk with!
I have started traveling a lot more over the last year and I have begun to rely heavily on my luggage. Lucky for me, every piece of luggage we own is American Tourister. I used to have other luggage brands but slowly got rid of them as I received more and more American Tourister bags. These bags are not only really well made, they are also super snazzy. I cannot walk through an airport with one without getting stopped at leave five times to be complimented on it. My Darth Vader one used to be the biggest hit, but I have a feeling my new limited edition Rogue One Galactic Empire bag is going to leave it in the dust.
I knew that our interview with Gareth Edwards, the director of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, would be great from the first sentence he spoke when he walked in, “I just passed Riz and he said they are all so nice!”. Gareth had introduced the 28 minutes of the film that we saw the night before, and I had been really looking forward to speaking with him. The interview did not disappoint.
I feel so lucky that I got to sit down and chat with Riz Ahmed about his role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story while at the LucasFilm Headquarters earlier this month. In case you missed it, he is a Golden Globe Nominee, guys! That means he is super good at what he does – so I was thrilled that he joined the cast of Star Wars. His interview was one of my favorites of the day.
I love a good villain. They are usually my favorite characters in films – especially in Star Wars. Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, & Darth Vader are some of the best villains out there – and I have a feeling Krennic is going to join that list. From the footage we saw of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story already, Ben Mendelsohn, who plays Krennic, is a fantastic bad guy. He is so good at being bad – someone the audience is going to love to hate. I was really excited to sit down and talk with Ben about his role in the new Star Wars.
I was really excited to have the chance to sit down and talk with Donnie Yen about his character, Chirrut, in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. After watching 28 minutes of the film, this was one of the interviews I was most looking forward to. There is one Chirrut scene in particular that we watched where my mouth was likely hanging open the whole time – it was that incredible. I could not wait to pick his brain about his character – and I ended up learning that he had a lot to do with shaping Chirrut into who he is.
The Rogue One interview I was most looking forward to was Alan Tudyk, who plays K-2SO in Rogue One. I adore him as an actor and have loved all of his roles in TV and film. Another one I was really excited for was Mads Mikkelsen who plays Galen Erso (Jyn’s father). Our schedule got moved around when some interviews were running late, so we actually got to interview them together. I knew right away that this would be a really fun interview. I enjoyed my time with these guys – I think all of us did.
Diego Luna, who plays Captain Cassian in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, was our first interview during the Rogue One press trip. The first interview tends to set the tone of the day – and he sure did. He walked in to the room confidently and ready to have some fun. He told us he would hang out with us all day and answer all of our questions. He seemed really excited to talk about his character and about the movie – and that made us all even more excited than we already were.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is easily one of the most anticipated films of the year. Star Wars fans have been waiting for this since the moment it was announced – me included. To help celebrate the release, a group of bloggers has come together to give you an incredible Star Wars prize pack worth $250!
I am a huge Star Wars fan – in fact my husband and I planned our wedding around the dates for Star Wars Weekend at Disney World. So, of course, when The Force Awakens was announced several years ago, we were super excited. After it blew our minds, we knew that Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would do the same. We were excited to learn about more characters in the Star Wars universe and see just how the Rebel Alliance got the Death Star plans in their hands. When I was invited to San Francisco by LucasFilms and Disney, I about died. I was THRILLED to be selected and could not wait to see who we would interview. We got to chat with a lot of the cast (who are all amazing, so keep checking back for more interview stories) including the female star, Felicity Jones, who plays Jyn Erso. After seeing a little bit of Jyn in the 28 minutes of Rogue One footage we were shown, I was already in love with her. She is a kick ass girl and I could not wait to talk to Felicity about her.
This past weekend, one of my dreams came true. I went to Skywalker Ranch and LucasFilms HQ. I am a huge Star Wars nerd so this was amazing for me. The things I got to see – only a handful of people can do that. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.
I have been keeping a secret from you – I am already on my way to San Francisco to check out Skywalker Ranch, The Walt Disney Family Museum, interview the cast of Rogue One, and so much more! This is a dream come true trip and I have been dying to tell you all about it! Here are all the details of what (and who!) I will be seeing during my trip to San Francisco from 12/3-12/5. Be sure to follow along with these hashtags on social media so that you do not miss any of the fun: #RogueOneEvent, #StarWarsRebelsEvent, #MickeyRacersEvent, & #PinocchioBluray
You might remember that I was lucky enough to interview the cast and see part of Rogue One last December on the Rogue One Press Event. It was an amazing time and since I had only been able to see about 28 minutes of the movie, I went to theaters opening day to watch the rest of it. The movie blew me away. In fact, I went back and saw it a second time. Since then I have been anxiously awaiting it’s release so that I can watch it again…and again…and again. Well that wait is finally over! TODAY, March 24th, you can watch Rogue One: A Star Wars Story on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere! And then on April 4th, you can pick up the Blu-ray Combo Pack or DVD in stores and online!
