I am really looking forward to Marvel’s Inhumans coming to ABC in September. The Inhumans comic book series is one of my favorites and has been for a long time. The characters are all amazing and the story lines always have me hooked. Black Bolt and Medusa are one of my absolute favorite comic book couples. Now, I know many people out there don’t know much about The Inhumans. I put together a list of my favorite trade paperbacks that are sure to get you hooked on them – and also ready for the ABC TV Series!
Inhumans: The Origin of the Inhumans
In 1965, a strange family of outcasts made their debut in the pages of Fantastic Four. The uncanny Inhumans quickly became more than just another set of adversaries and they all but took over and made the magazine their own! The mysterious origins of Black Bolt, Medusa, Gorgon, Triton, Karnak, Crystal and Lockjaw were revealed month after month in FF until reader demand gave them their own feature in the back pages of Thor. Now, the story of the Inhumans and their wondrous, secret land Attilan is collected from the very beginning for the first time ever! From Medusa’s debut as a member of the Frightful Four to the battle to break the Great Barrier, it’s all here in incomparable Stan and Jack fashion!
Inhumans Vs. X-Men
The X-Men and Inhumans have been on a collision course ever since the link was proven between the Inhumans’ precious Terrigen Mist and the sickness and death of many mutants. And when Beast discovers that the mutants have only two weeks left before planet Earth becomes completely uninhabitable for them, an Inhuman/mutant war is unavoidable! It all begins with one choice, and the world will never be the same! INHUMANS VS. X-MEN delivers sensational set pieces and gargantuan grudge matches that promise to shatter the Marvel Universe as you know it!
Inhumans: Attilan Rising
There is a rebellion brewing on Battleworld and it stretches far and wide into every domain. Medusa, ruler of Attilan, is tasked with uncovering the leader of this uprising and scuttling it with extreme prejudice. When she discovers the leader of this rebellion is Black Bolt, however, things get complicated.
Inhumans: Beware the Inhumans
From Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, Roy Thomas and Neal Adams – the titans of the Marvel Age – come the Inhumans! For the first time, the stories that defined these regal outcasts are brought together in one collection. From rare solo adventures and appearances in Fantastic Four to the their first solo series in Amazing Adventures, the adventures of Black Bolt, Medusa, Karnak, Gorgon, Crystal and loveable Lockjaw are here. Their quest for peace is threatened not just by a world that fears them, but by Black Bolt’s own brother, Maximus the Mad, and his evil Inhuman cohorts. It’s a family epic full of intrigue told in the Marvel fashion, as only comics’ greatest creative talents could craft it.
Inhumans: By Right of Birth
Witness the secret tragedies of Marvel’s most secretive society: the Inhumans! Hidden from the eyes of the ancient Inhuman leaders, Queen Medusa gives secret birth to King Black Bolt’s son, Ahura — but will the newborn heir apparent be a blessing or a curse? Then: be privy to the revolt of the Inhumans’ genetically bred servitors, the Alpha Primitives, and the creation of the god-like Trikon in the untold story that led to the Fantastic Four’s discovery of the Inhuman race. How was Medusa lost to the world of man, and how did Black Bolt’s insane brother Maximus the Mad usurp the throne? If you’ve read the Inhumans’ classic Silver Age debut, you only know half the story! Guest starring Quicksilver and the Fantastic Four!
