My daughters and I love to read. We try to read a few books a day – at least. It is something that we enjoy doing together because we all get to use our imaginations and be transported in to another world. I love the bonding time with them, as I know it is only a matter of time before they want nothing to do with me. When we first saw Elwood Bigfoot come in from the mail, both of my girls were excited! They love big monsters and anything spooky. They thought Elwood looked like a lot fun and they could not wait to read about him. This story is super cute and teaches a good lesson as well – both of my girls are quite loud (they get that from their mommy) and hopefully this will help them learn they don’t need to be.
Elwood Bigfoot is big, clumsy, LOUD . . . and lonely. It’s hard for him to make friends—especially with the tiny, delicate birdies he loves so much. Each flash of their feathers, each chirp and cheerful song, helps him feel less alone. But whenever a birdie swoops by, and Elwood hollers at it to STAY, the scared creature flies away. He tries everything: sitting on a branch, having a housewarming party, even building an amusement park with snacks and pools. But nothing helps—until Elwood finally learns how to make his bird dreams come true.
