I used to cloth diaper both our girls full time. Boy, do I miss it. I think it is awesome for the environment, for your babies, and and for your wallet. I actually used to own a cloth diaper store (and don’t worry I plan to share a lot of my cloth diaper knowledge in a future post or two) and I know a lot about most of the major brands. I must say, I always loved the Work At Home Mom Diapers. They are usually really well made and super cute – not to mention you are supporting a mom, which I love.
My youngest is more or less out of diapers but we still use them when out of the house and for nap time. Her little bum appreciates the cloth and she never breaks out when wearing them. If she is in disposables, well, that is another story. I was really excited for the chance to review a Simba & Mama cloth diaper. The owner is a WAHM from Australia and I could tell immediately how passionate she is about cloth. When asked about how Simba & Mama came to be she says “I was pregnant (and gave birth to my baby girl Simba) in Bali, Indonesia. I realised everyone used disposables, and the common practice is to burn all household rubbish by the roadside. I felt sickened by this, and wanted to do something different. However modern cloth diapers are not available in Bali. Luckily, family and friends donated them to us. We now live in Australia (I’m an aussie) and for every Simba & Mama cloth diaper purchased, I am giving one to the local Balinese mothers. It is my way of giving back to a beautiful community that supported me in my time of need.”
I love that she gives back by donating cloth diapers to those in need. I also love that these diapers come with a mini wetbag! It is perfect for on-the-go moms! These are a one size diaper and are easily adjusted (see the chart below). The inside is super soft and it wicks wet away from baby’s privates. I love that about cloth! The diaper comes with a newborn size insert and a one size insert and also a micro-fleece liner! All of the patterns are totally adorable as well. It was hard for me to select one that I wanted because I wanted them all!
When you order a Simba & Mama cloth diaper you are also emailed two incredibly useful documents. The Do’s & Don’ts of Cloth diapering cheat sheet and A Foolproof TLC Poster Pinup which is perfect for your laundry room. These tips are sure to help you keep your diapers feeling like new to your little one.
