As most of you know, we live in upstate New York. Because of this we live out in the country – and around farms. When we go for a walk we pass horses, cows, barns, crops, etc. – I love that my girls are growing up around this. It really is amazing. So when I received the Casey & Friends Big Tractors book and tractor toy, well, we were all excited about it. My daughters love seeing the farm equipment in action while we are out and about. We even have our own taste of a farm because we raise chickens for eggs and meat as well as have our own small vegetable garden.
This book is the perfect mix of cartoon characters and real photos of tractors. It helps kids understand how a tractor works – and my oldest is really fascinated by the engine photos. The toy tractor that is came with is so much fun too! It looks just like the tractor in the book and my girls have a blast making it “work the farm” which is actually the rug and some play food. I think this book is educational and fun and I highly recommend it. I hope to collect the whole series as they come out because I know it is something that we will read a lot of. The other books in this series are A Year on the Farm (Jan 2015), Combines (June 2015), and Planters & Cultivators (September 2015). More information on the whole series is below.
